bought a nice deer rifle today! (Pic)

Marlin 336C in 35 remington with a Current production weaver fixed 2 1/2 power scope in leupold mounts and leather sling all 99%+ condition., also 2 boxes of shells for $450.00 , was this deal worth my woman kicking my butt for spending $$$ or not [:p]

    I have one that I use for my "woods gun", Muuuuch older though!! It really likes the 200gr LeveRevolution from Hornady.

    My buddy John hunted with one of those in central Georgia for years. He killed lots of deer with it, and several hogs too.
    Very good deer rifle. I like the way they look. Those are really well built guns.

    Good move.......I own about a dozen guns capable of doing a good job on deer but my Marlin 336 in 35 Rem is my favorite. Mine has a 6x Weaver otherwise it is just like yours. The 200 grain round nose bullets do a great job on deer. You can carry the gun all day and not get tired, and the bonus is ....you can eat right around the bullet hole because you don't get all that jelly meet from the sonic wave of the bigger guns....ie 7 mm magnun and such.... These guns are much more accurate than most people think, we shot my 35 at 100yds the other day and 4 different shooters put the holes in a 2'' circlebuthe

    Marlins are great. Only a few moving parts. Reliable and accurate. I killed a lot of deer with my 30-30.
