Interesting how things come full cycle here.

First W was a retard. He failed to have the "gravitas" to be POTUS.

    Then, W was machievellian.

Then, we're back to W being a retard.

And, now we're suggesting he's machievellian again!

BTW, too many people think that the GOP doesn't stand a chance in the 2008 election. You're fooling yourself. The Dems aren't held in any higher regard.

    I love that term "GRAVITAS".

    It's so damn arrogant.

This country was founded on the principle that the common man could be trusted so long as he was elected to whatever position held.

On the other hand....nah....I'll hold my tongue. It's not the gravitas or lack thereof that concern me about the POTUS.

If you all remember correctly, Ronald Reagan received a great deal of negitive press and was ridiculed through out his presidency. Time will tell if there are similarities between the two. Hind sight is 20/20.

I don't think W is stupid....I laugh everytime someone says it

The man holds degrees from Yale and Harvard. Daddy's money may have got him in, but it didn't buy the degrees.

W isn't stupid......he's stubborn and sometimes quite arrogant, which IMO is worse

I'm in agreement with you. He makes some boneheaded decisions, too, but I don't think he's stupid. Not in the least.

+1 , Its probably the American people who will discover that they are the ones not so bright. Bush gets negiative press about his position on the war, the American people also have no taste for war!
Problem is down the road when we are attacked again and again the American people will scream, why didn't someone do something about the Islamic Radicals! They will want accountability and want to blame someone but it will be their fault, do you think they will point the finger at, themselves? Who is really stupid??

Bush will go down in history as an excellent president that had the courage to hold to his convictions! Rare among liberals. His removal of the gun control excesses of the Clinton admin, lowering of taxes, boostng the economy out of recession, and strength on defense is his legacy. He has attempted to rebuild the military forces of this nation after Clinton cut it in half is in our best interests to say the least. Ask our soldiers what they think of Bush vs Clinton!

His courage to continue the war in Iraq until the gov of Iraq can assume the responsiblity is the smart move, not the cut and run agenda of the liberals!

His embracing of the immigration bill is my only problem with him!
But to overshadow all he has done with the late term immigration issues and the boreing dragging on of the war is simply an attempt to play the liberal game of demonization to boost favor for the liberal candidates in the upcoming 08 election.

Americans seem to have a problem with very short term memorys! Its caused from watching too much TV. It appears we can only focus on what BS the media is pumping out in a particular period. Focus folks and look at the big picture.

Pick a liberal progressive in 08 and you will have to give up your prized AK's an AR's and all semi-autos within the next term.
I have to believe the Bush bashing on a so called conservative gun forum is instigated by folks assuming we are not too smart and having a personal agenda!

If we buy into that agenda then we indeed are not very smart! In my humble opinion.

No, I really think he is borderline retarded. As someone stated, getting into Yale is not hard with his connections, but also with his connections, he will be passed through. I did hear that he got fairly mediocre grades too - probably means he failed but they passed him with the minimum.

I always liked Reagan and never thought he was anything that could be called stupid.

It's not his want to rid the planet of the muslim infestation that I have a problem with. I agree 100% in principle, I just think he is stupid to think that any peace can ever come from the middle-east. His father knew that.

Big Picture? Had he sent bombs and troops to topple the "regime" and left, he'd be aces in my book. Then in 5 years, we'd have an excuse to go in and pound Iran - might even get a few countries to back us. Now Iran will still come in, but it will be much harder to justify blasting them again. The only big picture is that he didn't learn any lessons from Vietnam.

His liberal stance on immigration is appalling.

I will still continue to vote pub - it is (still) the least of the 2 evils.

Rich kids have been failing out of Ivy League schools for decades....

Incidentally, Bush's grades were better than John "I'm an Intellectual" Kerry

Slipgate study a map or two of the Middle East. I'm a day late for the D-Day analogy, but GW:

Went into Afganistan and dethroned the evil Taliban, tore Al-Quaida a new one and has established beachheads and/or forward operating bases just in-case Iran needs to be delt with sooner rather than later.

As for Iraq, the old saying goes "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" The rich dictator, Sadam, was our enemy and did or would support ANY terrorist group that wanted to attack us. The Iraq war not only eliminated a potential threat, but ALSO has established forward operating bases on the other side of Iran too.

So we now have Iran bracketed east and west. Tens of thousands of troops, armor, airbases, logistics and supply . . . everything you need to conduct a war NOT thousands of miles away thru what might prove to be unfriendly air space or waterways but RIGHT NEXT DOOR on both the East AND West borders.

In an ideal world we'd successfully establish freedom loving, non-secular, western-like, republics in both Afganistan and Iraq that would thrive. Then the populace of Iran might actually do away with the hate-mongering, bigoted, fascist religious rulers in order to share in the wealth.

But if we have to go to war with IRAN and invade, GW and his generals have put us into the best geographical position for success.

If Bush keeps this war at the same level next year, the Republican party will lose in a major landslide. This is why you will begin to see lots of Republican defections starting later this year.
Already, Bush's war is responsible for the current Dem takeover of Congress.

Bush is not retarded, but he is not the sharpest knife in the drawer.
Obviously out of his depth in his current job.

The American sheepeople are too concerned with Paris Hilton, American Idol and other garbage like that to be bothered by something significant. They've got there heads so far up their stink-holes they believe that moron Rosie when she says bombs blew up the trade centers because FIRE CAN'T MELT STEEL.

The right choices are sometimes the hard and unpopular choices, it takes a person of character to take the heat for doing the right thing. Or we could be unlucky enough to get another President Clinton who had Osama handed to him on a silver plater by Sudan but said "no thank you".

    Nope, he's a retard.

From the botched war in Iraq, the botched hunt for Bin Laden, botched border control, botched immigration control, botched governance, and botched spending, I'd say W's nothing more than a Grade A retarded son of a botch.

He is no retard: He has had arguably the toughest Presidency since Truman.

He has had an INSANE amount on his plate, right from the git-go, and it hasn't let up once for him to come up for air.

I am mad as hell at him for siding with Kennedy a couple of times, but overall, he has made good calls.

Biggest reason he gets all the flung dung is that Media has ceased pretending to be unbiased, and has been pot-shotting him for his entire presidency. The sheeple regurg what the media feeds 'em.

The "defections" you will see from the 'pubs is what happens at the end of EVERY second term of every Presidency - the party has to show how they are "Different" than the past, or the natural tendency of the stupid voter is to turn to the other party, as that is the way to not do what has been going on for the last eight years. It is how things get revitalized - the party in power has to say: "Look, we are ready to make a course correction!" in order to keep the "swing" voters on their side.

Who among us does his own independant reserch on our presidents actions and policies? Or is MSNBC or CNN the only source for information about the president. A few decades back we called it propaganda!
