age and buying guns
I find that I never get over the urge to buy more guns, I now have guns that I seldom use or fire.I cant bring myself to sell any in my collection. I have an overpowering urge to buy more, will this ever go away? I still hunt small and lg game and love to shoot.Just wondering if any of you have this problem, if you can consider it a problem.

Happens all the time. 0 -
I have at least 8 guns I've NEVER shot.
An 870 I shot 3 times 12 years ago.
A Savage 22mag. shot 1 mag. several years ago.
A 10-22 shot 1 mag 6 years ago.
Yeah, it's an addiction, but so what?
I KNOW there are worse things I could be pissing my money away on.

I have 2 I've never shot, but my problem is never having enough ammo. 0 -
I have number of weapons I have never shot. My Canadian wife thinks I'm nuts! But I have a semi-legitimate excuse, I live in Calif. and IF I want to go shooting the closest place is 45 minute drive one-way! I kind of look at them like a woman does jewelry! ...You can never have too much! *G* ...Also as an investment, when I no longer know who I am, and drool all the time! ...I've heard that's hard on the bluing!?? 0 -
I have guns that i dont shoot much and a few i have never shot. There is no such thing as having to many guns! My cousin and I even joke and rib each other on who has the most guns now. I also wont ever sell or trade any of them because I almost always ended up wishing i had that gun back that i sold or traded. 0 -
Yes. 0 -
I realize that, at least in my case, I buy guns because I like them. I don't have a "use" necessarily for some of my guns, other than to simply collect. I don't know if the desire to buy more guns ever goes away. For me there seems to be no end any time soon. 0 -
I only have a few guns right now, but I'm still young too, and could think of a list a mile long of ones that I would like to have. Only have 1 I haven't shot and may end up selling that one. The urge to buy can be a problem if you spend too much money on it but don't think it ever goes away. 0 -
I only have one that I havent shot, but there are a few that havent been fired in over 15 years 0 -
Yep, i have several that i just enjoy owning/looking at...never shoot em. Always mean to, it just never happens.[:)] 0 -
There are two types of guns.
I call the ones I want to shoot Kate Beckensale guns and the ones when I look in the safe(s) I say naw don't feel like shooting that one, the Rosie O'Donnell guns.
When I realize I no longer have a desire to fire one it is time to take it to the gun show and send it to someone that thinks it looks like Kate Beckensale to them all while I am thinking good riddance fat ars!
Certain guns simply never lose their appeal while others do.
The way I see it we notice what we like about the gun at first but as time goes by we start to notice the fat ars aspect and big mouth side.
After 6 months or so the right guns look good, feel good and shoot good and they get the badge of lifetime mine award.
IMO

I'm sure you never get over it I'm almost 67 and I have my eye on a few more 0 -
I've felt that way for over 40 years. It just gets worse as you get older. The only relief is to go buy another gun.[}:)] 0 -

I always tell the wife that when I die she can sell all my guns and live like a millionare the rest of her life. I failed to tell her that in my will that my two sons get a few and the rest are being buried with me! Hehehe!0 -
Its an addiction and you will never shake the urge unless you go to a liberal Guns AA program! 0 -

It's not a problem! It's a way of Life!0 -
My wife considers it a problem sometimes...I think it is a blessing. My hobby keeps me out of trouble. I sold a gun once, will not do it again, wish I had it back. I try to get about 2-3 every year. 0 -
Wife thinks it's a problem every now and then. I always have the urge to buy more guns. As a matter of fact, I just won an auction on one yesterday. Sell my guns? Not a chance. [;)] 0 -
Welcome, you have friends here. 0 -
Its not a hobby but an obsession with me. I buy about one every month or two shoot it once if at all and start looking for something else. Last Sunday I finally bought a nice Winchester 1897 just because I didn't have one already. Don't need it but it looks nice next to my model 12s[:D]. 0 -
Most of mine have not been fired by me, but I have good intentions. these will be first. [:D]
