Memories---before all the restictions/laws
When I was a kid (about 15-16), I remember when a friend and I went to a little country store, way out in the boonies in Mississippi, to buy fireworks. Now, this was way before all the federal laws/state laws, etc., regarding fireworks and firearms. Practically, no restrictions at all. You could buy M-80's, Cherry-Bombs---you name it. They had'em in barrels. While in this country store I noticed a few handguns inside a glass case. I asked the owner--"how old do you have to be in order to buy a handgun"
his answer----"12". I'll never forget that!

Nice! It shall come to pass that those will be the rules once more. 0 -
1970. Flight from Seattle to Fairbanks. Nice folks at the airline gave me a ticket for my revolver. I boarded the plane, handed my revolver to the flight attendant, and picked it up when I disembarked. No, not a LEO. Army. Try to take a pocket knife on a flight today! 0 -
I remember going up to Canada to duck hunt and carrying the shot gun on board and putting it in the overcoat and hanging storage bin! 0
