Your favorite way to carry concealed...and why?
I'm recently licensed to carry concealed, but have not had the experience to chose my prefered location to conceal or method/holster in the summertime hot weather yet.
I'll be using two setups alternately....one with my midsized pistols, and another for my subcompacts(all relatively same general polymer frame shapes--just varying in length a bit...but all 40 cal.(I have nothing with large frames like a 1911, except possibly mr Beretta cougar which is too bulky in summerwear). I'm thinking probably of hiding it inside my pants, behind my back.
Since I'm new at this, I don't want to spend lots of money for high quality holsters, until I truly decide for sure where(on my body) and what model I'll carry mostly. So would like a lower priced ones for starters.
My questions are: WHERE is your prefered body location to conceal...and where is the best place to find reasonably priced "beginner's" holsters to try(without initial sizable investment)?

same here, shoulder rig in the winter when i have a heavier coat on summer time comes and it goes back in the hip hoslter. soon to get a small pocket 38 for days when i need to dress professional and i can slide her down in a pocket0 -
Are you talking about under long baggy shirts in summer?
Have you guys found the hip, outside the pants better than in back inside pants as a better/less noticable summer conceal location?

The style of carry varies depending on what clothes you wear. What works for a person that wears blue jeans and a flannel shirt, isn't necessarily going to work for someone that wears a 3 piece suit. If you can wear somewhat baggy clothes, rather than tighter fitting with shirt tucked in, then you have many more options as to how to conceal it.
Even though it may not be your first choice, many people change the gun they carry, to fit their clothing. A smaller (more concealable) firearm is better than nothing. There are a few guns, with the right holster, that can be slipped into a front pocket, and not even print.
It's easy for me, a SIG 220 (<-- size reference) on the right hip, outside the pants. I don't have any restrictions on what I wear. I use a slightly oversized t-shirt, then depending on the season, a flannel shirt in the summer, or a "real" light short sleeve shirt in the summer. Neither tucked in. Some people wouldn't be caught dead looking like that.0 -

P3-AT with a custom-leather-wallet holster in my back pocket. Easy carry with pants or shorts. 0 -
No holster, like the feel of cold steel next to my skin, waistband in back.
Compact 9 or 40 auto, minimum 13 rds.0 -
Kel-Tec P3AT with a Disantis pocket holster. Stuck in the back pocket, it looks just like a wallet. Some thug demands you wallet, boy will he be surprised when you come up with a pistol instead.
Face it, only a tiny number of people who carry canceled will ever get into a running gun-battle, so capacities of 13, 15 or even 17 are truly overkill. A single sharp poke in the face of the thug with my .380 I'm sure will suffice.0 -

A little bitty single stack all steel .40 in a cross draw shoulder holster, and at the same time, a little itty bitty .32 auto in an inside the waist band cross draw.

I carry either strong side or plain cross draw. Im a big guy 6'7 and my T Shirts when untucked cover my SIG P-229 with no problem. 0 -

Is it in a holster in your purse? If not it would be very easy to have an Accidental Discharge carrying a Glock just loose in your purse. Keys or something get wrap into the trigger guard and you pull the keys out, the gun may discharge. I personally know a cop that has two holes in his upper thigh from carrying a Glock in his pockect without it being in a holster. He threw his keys in there with it and when he pulled the keys out it pulled the trigger and he shot himself.0 -

Just as I'd suspected, there are about as many preferences as there are carriers.
Although I had been mostly considering inside my waistband behind my back during summer months. I've always be leary of some "bad guy" detecting an unusual bulge, even how small...and coming up behind me and grabbing/"wresting" it away from me(even though I'm very aware of people behind me neary 99.8% of the time.
And if I was in a crowd, or crowded elevator, places where people are jammed up together like sardines...someone behind me might easily feel it.
I looked at all the suggestions and believe that except in winter or times I'm wearing a coat, where the best place would be in a cross arm shoulder holster....I believe I carry them in a front pants pocket holster. Even in a crown, I know I'm not going to be rubbing the front of my thighs against anyone(unless she is EXTREMELY attractive, and I can't help myself....Ha!
BUT the DUAL QUESTION that I initially wanted to know is WHY people prefer different type carry arrangements/locations.
Any input on that question would also be very appreciated.

If you are not a LEO and are to faithfully carry concealed 24/7, factors other than gun caliber may come into play.

I have carried a Seecamp .32 ACP daily while at work in a hot hot and humid weather during the last four years. So far, no problems.
