I've not had a ticket in 15 years.

I've not been pulled over in about five. The last time I got pulled over, I talked my way out of a ticket. The State Patrol was going to issue me a citation for following too close. However, the state just passed a law that indicated you cannot be in the left lane unless you are passing someone, and you cannot impede traffic.

This guy was going 55mph in a 75mph zone and was parked in the left lane. So, I ran up behind him with the hopes that he would pull over. He didn't, and the LEO pulled me over.

I apologized to the LEO and asked what he suggested I should do, considering that the guy in front of me was the lawbreaker, and that it is illegal to pass on the right.

He gave me a warning and suggested that I simply follow him until he pulls over.

No offense to the LEO, but I think he knew better, which is why I got a warning instead of a ticket.

1985 for driving 15 MPH over the speed limit, I had to get to a bathroom.

The ticketing officer took a very loooong time to complete his task.[}:)]

What's a ticket? Never had one, except for a fix-it ticket on an expired tag. That was given to me by my father-in-law, not long after I married his daughter.

It's been a few years, but got two within the year, and it doubled my insurance. Can't imagine what it'd be with 6.[:0]

Look at it this way: as long as the cops have him pulled over, they can't pull you over.

We retired and moved back to Texas from California last year and right off the bat I got a ticket for 70 in a 55 (May 2006) just as I entered the city limits of a small town on a state highway. My previous ticket was for 70 in a 55 and it was also in Texas, but that was about 29 years earlier in 1977.

My last ticket was for "Over on Axel Weight" and it was a company respoceability ticket!

Got it about 5 years ago.

I have not been pulled over or anything since then.

Talked last night with a guy who seems to be a ticket magnet this year -
never more than one or two a year ever!

Run of bad luck or should he hang up his ignition keys?

What was your last traffic ticket for .... how long ago?

Fall of 1983 - first weekend of junior year of college. Turned onto state highway seven miles from house. I thought, "I'm going to make it home in five minutes." About a half mile from house (in the middle of nothing) there is a four way stop. I was coming up to it, looked both ways - didn't see anything and blew through it about 70 mph. Glanced back to left and probably 1/2 - 3/4 miles down that road, I saw blues turn on. I just pulled off to side of road and waited. Probably could have made in to the driveway without him ever finding me, but oh well, I did it. He asked me why, I told him the truth, he laughed and then gave me a $107 ticket.

On December 21, 1993, a state rod pulled me over for 96 in a 55. No ticket, no warning. My sister had just died of a heart attack (age 42) and I was getting to the hospital for my mother. He offered an escort, but I declined. He told me to try to stay with traffic, but once I was away from the traffic, to do what I wanted. He called ahead to the two towns between me and the hospital and told them I was coming and to leave me alone. Nice guy!! BTW, a funeral on Christmas eve will emotionally ruin the holidays.

A few years ago, I was backing into the alley from my parking spot and backed into the car owned by a lawyer whose offices are near ours.

Man, I never do anything half-assed.

    Got an improper backing ticket.

    No biggie.

Only four were for speeding/all were moving violations - he never
    got a parking ticket.

(I've never gotten a ticket either - and I'm the 'kick the tires, and light the fires -
drive as fast as hell' kinda driver!)

Even was stopped for a good driving certificate! LOL

    .... no accidents, ever, either!
