Andy........ Iam in So Cal also, welcome to the forum.

The only guns, legal in Ca, that are even close to the banned assault weapons are the top loading AR pattern rifles that have 10rd fixed mags and the pump version of the AK.

I have a Keltec SU-16. I does not like aluminum GI mags but instead funstions perfectly with Canadian thermolds or the Orlite polymer mags.

I was born and raised in California. I did the best and only logical thing a person could do.

I moved clear across the US and got away from there![:D][:D]

    Welcome to the GB forum.

If you are really 17 I doubt if you own a mini-14 or the Kel-Tec in that state. Very illegial and not for teens.[:(]

I believe the 'non-police' model without the bayo lug and flash supressor makes it legal in commiefornia; which is probably the model he has.

This is a bit of puzzle to me since bushmaster makes a 'commiefornia legal' "top-loader" model which has the pistol grip, slot for the grenade launcher attachment, and bayo lug.

I guess they have a pick and choose attitude with everything.

Nope...perfectly legal. You can't get mags over 10rds unless you owned them before the ban.

lets not forget the possibility that a parent or other adult sponsor maybe the custodian of this young mans hardware. while he may have earned the money and selected the gun, the sponsor actually made the purchase and maintains possession. this could i suppose be interpreted by some as a straw purchase/sale but i would disagree on the grounds that possesion never changed.

Yeah, I'm 17 I saved the moeny for the guns but my Dad/Parents actually purchased them. I also have a Glock .40, It's in a gun safe in my room. I've been shooting since since I was 4 or 5.

I've known about the Alantic Arms site, but what I wanted to get cleared up is that do you really need to use a tool or something to load them? You can't load them from the top like regular you actually have to use a little tool or something. Can someone clear this up for me?

Well, there's a gun show this weekend near me and I have about $1,000 bucks to spend, and I wanted to get a Cali legal AK or AR but couldn't really get a straight answer about the having to use a tool to load it. That's from the Atlantic Arms site.

Are they really going the ban the Mini 14's with this new 2007 Assualt Ban thing? Maybe I'll just another one of those. Hehe... Thanks for the reply's.

I do not believe the 'non-police' model is illegal in CA; however if this new AW ban takes affect it WILL be illegal; along with the kel-tec, m-1 carbine, certian shotguns, and a host of semi autos.

So if you have a $1000.00 I would buy them all now. [and not tell them you have it when it comes to 'register' them]

Remember what happened in britian: The tea drinkers said you cant have certian models, and existing models have to be kept in approved 'lockers' in a centrally located shop. ....>>> Then the tea drinker announced they were taking those models without compensation or previous notice. Then crime went through the roof when that happened. Reduce crime rate my arze.

If 'Red-Dawn' actually happens, we would be fighting the russians with 1776 era, or mid-evil era weapons. [B)]

BTY: Commiefornia has several anti-gun/ anti-ammo bills on the floor of the lesisjesture right now. If they cant ban guns, they will go after and ban the ammo and reloading presses [britian did both at once]. They are trying to make it as costly as possible so people will just give up on their own and make their gun grabs easier.

    Doug,

    I'm curious, too.

Is he one of those hard-working kids we all thought were extinct in this day and age?[:0]

The money. Well, I have two part time jobs. One at an Auto Shop, the other at a little fast food resuraunt. Plus I got out camping a lot and I pick up brass that people had left from when they were shooting and take it to be recyled, I usally get $400-$600 each time I go picking it up.
