Picked out my Christmas/B-day.....

present yesterday! Went to the local Scheels store to order my 25-06 I was talking about getting a while back and ended up getting something completely different. They had a Remington SPS "Big Game" rifle there! For those of you who have seen them they only made 500 of them and the caliber is .375 H&H Magnum. It is one of them calibers that I have dreamed of getting someday, but thought because of the price and how much I would use it, that it would not be until later in my life. $600 out the door. Only agreement with the girlfriend was that I have to put it on layway(6 months) because she can't afford to pay for it in full. What a girl[:D]. I'm not sure who was happier, me grinning ear to ear and actually shaking filling out the layway paperwork(no lie either), the g/f smiling knowing that she made my day by buying me a rifle in the caliber of my dreams(and a collectible one at that), or the salesman who told me that he was "extremely happy that a great caliber and collectible rifle like that was going into a young guy's hands who will greatly appreciate it and not some rich snob's hands." His words, not mine, but I have bought my last two guns from him and he is a very knowledgeable and nice guy.

BTW--She picked out her present a while back(which I already got), but I think I am going to have to get her a little something extra now.
