Story of a Hit Man
I saw a show on tv about an ex Mafia hit man named Richard Kulkinski.
He is currently doing life in prison, I believe in New Jersey.
He worked for decades as a hit man for the Gambino family in New York. They liked Kulkinski because he was not Italian, so he had a low profile to the cops, and to other Mafia families.
Kulkinski lived a nominally quiet suburban life with his wife and children. When the Gambino family gave him the word, he accomplished the hit and then went back home. In one instance, he killed a man on Christmas Eve, and afterwards went home and spent the night putting his kid's Christmas presents together.
He was called "The Iceman" because on one hit, he stored the corpse in a freezer for a year.
Then, he dumped the frozen corpse in a park in New Jersey.
Police say Kulkinski may have killed 200 men.
Kulkinski was interviewed on this show. He spoke of one episode in which he had driven down to Miami and done a hit. He was driving back north up I95. He was driving through South Carolina at night. He got into a dispute with another car, somebody had cut someone off or failed to dim the lights, some such thing. Insulting hand signals were passed back and forth. There were three men in the South Carolina car. They motioned for Kulkinski to pull over into a deserted rest area. They saw the lone guy with Jersey plates and figured they would give the Yankee a butt whipping.
Kulkinski said the cars stopped about 20 feet apart. The three men got out and headed towards his car. Kulkinski got out with his .357 magnum in his hand, and shot each man one time in the chest. Then he shot each guy in the back once as he lay on the ground. He got back into his car and drove on up to Jersey.
The author who wrote the book on the Iceman went down to South Carolina and checked police records. Sure enough, he found an unsolved triple homicide at a rest station on I95.

So he admits to an unsolved triple murder (no statute of limitations) in a state where he could be tried & receive the death penalty....Doesn't sound too smart to me......0 -
I have a book called the 'Hit Man" penned by a REX FERRAL who discribes just how to kill people and make silencers in detail. It has been on TV in conjunction with a few murders. Come to find out it was written by a Grandmother in Florida.[:D] 0 -
Kulkinski is no grandmother, he is for real. He was convicted of three or four murders, starting with the frozen guy. They interviewed several NY cops who had tracked him for decades, and who put him behind bars. These are the guys who say they think the Iceman may have done 200 hits.
hicap makes a good point about that triple homicide. I would imagine South Carolina could and would extradite and execute Kulkinski for such a crime. It is possible that Kulkinski read about that crime in the paper and made up a story about it.
Well, maybe he only killed 101, and the other 99 were embellishments.
They also interviewed the Iceman's wife and daughter. Both said it was the happiest day of their lives when the hit man got locked up. Said he was not a nice man.0 -

I watched that documentary. It was very interesting. He is a paranoid sociopath which makes him very dangerous. 0
