How do you convince a seller/shipping muzzleloader

    Jeremy, if you go to the opening page of Gun Broker and click on the "How to buy" link at the top, you will get what you need I believe.

    A few paragraphs down it lists the information about what weapons do not require an FFL, and that should be enough for you.

    Good luck.
    I have seen many cases where a muzzleloader, or a rifle built before 1899, was sold with the requirement that an FFL be usek. These guys don't know the law, and in their ignorance they are just covering their butts.

    +1 On the above advice. I wouldnt bid on one until the seller agreed that the law was what it is and all worked out OK>

    Federal law does not regulate antique firearms but you must check the state and municipal regulations in his state of residence. RJSnow

    I may ask but not require on on a pre-98 just to satisfy 18 years old but I don't think so on a muzzle loader. [:D]
