How do you convince a seller/shipping muzzleloader
How does one go about convincing a seller that he'd get a higher bid on his muzzleloader if he didn't require that it pass through the hands of an FFL who will charge a fee? Arrrgh....
I'm trying unsuccessfully to find something in the federal law where I can prove that this isn't necessary.

Jeremy, if you go to the opening page of Gun Broker and click on the "How to buy" link at the top, you will get what you need I believe.
A few paragraphs down it lists the information about what weapons do not require an FFL, and that should be enough for you.

I have seen many cases where a muzzleloader, or a rifle built before 1899, was sold with the requirement that an FFL be usek. These guys don't know the law, and in their ignorance they are just covering their butts.0 -

I may ask but not require on on a pre-98 just to satisfy 18 years old but I don't think so on a muzzle loader. [:D] 0
