Stinky fire campers ? ? ?
The landlords son had a party last night and some friends put up tents way down the valley by the pond and stream. I saw them drive thru after midnight and start a fire, then the smell.
They must of put huge amounts of innscence(?) or mosquito stuff in the fire because at about a half mile my whole house smells of potpourri. And they are all close to late 40's 50's so I don't think it was weed, they are upstanding people.
Anybody use this trick for bugs ? ?

I've never heard of putting anything like that in a campfire to keep bugs away. And while I doubt you would smell them smoking weed from that distance, I wouldn't rule it out. One of my old HS buds is the top dog at his companies plant that he works at. And as such is the ONLY one who isn't required to take a drug screen. And he's a pot fiend.
I use automatic transmission fluid to get my campfires going. That stuff burns HOT, but not fast like gas or lighter fluid. And it will easily get even green or wet wood burning. But the down side is that it smokes and stinks until it burns off.0 -
Did they use citronella <sp> torch fuel to get it started?

i know a few people that would fit into that category, but may still partake in a joint at a campfire, example: how exactly do you know what it smells like to eliminate it?0
