per pound of body weight should one take in for meal replacements/supplement along with cardio/soon to come weight training if they need to reduce their weight

close, for your intended weight if you have a bit extra body fat, don't forget your carbs, bad ideal to cut them while working out, same principal 1 gram per pound of intended body weight
to clarify say you weigh 250, but loose the fat and you would be 220, that is the weight you need to base your protein and carb intake on, not the 2500
