you know i have made several claims here, and get scoffed at, that baggy pants are responsible for gun control, and at least 90% of the shootings in America, it dawned on me how many gun buy back programs are held in white neighborhoods?
yup. that's a good point. a few years ago they said in the post-dispatch how the cops divided up the whole St. Louis area into 9 different neighborhoods, and figured that most of the violent crime (60%? 70%?) happens in only 2 neighborhoods. in the north part of town.
however...
and if their claim for the programs is to get guns off the streets to prevent violent crimes isn't that an admission, one of the selling points is "no questions asked" because most of the guns are stolen, and/or been used in a crime {i can't think of any crime that utilizes a gun that isn't violent}
most of the people there were 30 to 50+ years old. I got the impression these were normal folks with junky "house guns" they didn't need, or junk laying around in the basement they could get rid of. I don't really think there were many stolen guns there, because ain't nothing I saw would have been worth stealing, and like said above, 90% of them didn't look like the type that would break into anybody's house. just normal folks from that part of town.
so my point is, "taking guns out of the hands of criminals" or "off the streets" may have been their stated intention, but that's not what they're getting. I'm sure it was like that the last time too. and at a lot of other places that have done this. but whatever politicians will use this as a political football, before and after the event. either they don't know what's going on, or they don't have any problem blowing hot air to voters.
Then off to the crack house they went with the $$$
Would be a good way to find out where the crack houses were.[;)]
no, no, no, wasn't none of that going on. if you could have went there and hung out it would have changed your mind about that.0 -

In St. Louis, or KC for that matter, they should try a stolen car buy-back. Man, a certain ethnic group in both cities would come out in droves with cars to sell/return.
And that group would be, 14 to 18 yr.old white punk a$$ wiggers.0 -

UH.....no, it would not be the whites. But why did you feel a need to mention race if the truth is as obvious as you make it sound? Sounds to me like you are afraid of the truth.0 -

I am speaking about the south side of the STL. Afraid of the truth[?]
I know what the truth is and it disgusts me. There are more white kids running around here with their pants hanging off their a$$e$ than their are black kids. My neighbor has had his jeep stolen 4 times in the last 6 years and 3 out of the 4 times, it was a white kid that was caught behind the wheel. Are you familliar with the term "wigger"?0 -
Well, when you describe it like that, I can see where you are coming from. 0 -
cutiegirl i see your plan, and the problem is they will do more than 50 bucks worth of damage to them throwing them around, and if you got them back it may be hit or miss if they get removed from the stolen data base, and that could be a minor problem later 0
