I GOT IT!
Went and interviewed for a new security job today, AND GOT IT!! I have a choice between guarding a gated 500 house community, which is home to some Tampa Bay Bucs players, and some Tampa Bay Lightning players, or this Multi Million Dollar power boat Customization shop. The employees at the power boat shop are robbing the owner blind, the last officer there watched as employees took motors and parts. Which one would you pick?

The gated job for sure. The other job sounds like a lot of trouble! 0 -
the 500 house community
there are going to lots of eye candy ie HOT CHICS going in and out of there.
chances of getting lucky alot higher than at the boat shop which sounds like your chances of being shot @ are pretty good.
there was a reason the other guard was watching, you can but it was one of two reasons.
1. they had a bigger gun
2. He was in on it, and getting a cut0 -
Gated community for sure. You can bet they'll be much friendlier than the other. 0 -
I have done both types of jobs where I work. Now I am at a county office screening visitors. The gated community was the best, the one I worked at invited me to the parties when I was off duty. I still go back there once in a while to fish (private land, no license needed). I plan on hitting the big end of sumer BBQ bash there. 0 -
I'd go for the boat shop. If anything, maybe you can pick up/learn the boat business, like marine AC, rigging, electronics, fiberglass work, etc.
As you know, the marine industry is big in FL, always booming.
BTW, is the company Intrepid?0 -
You will have some(slight) opportunities at the gated community to meet people who may become influential to your future. Besides, gated communities don't go bankrupt, much.
If you do the community, the surest way to lose your job is to flirt with the honeys. Some guy that owns a 3 million dollar home just might take offense at you messin' around with his (very mature) twelve year old.
Congratulations.

DOug has logical advice. There might be more potential after starting at the gated community. 0 -
I think im gonna go with the gated community, thanks for all the comments. Im not going to disclose the company name, but it isnt Intrepid. After what happened to one of our members im gonna leave that out[;)] They said for the gated community they needed someone to be firm if some one isnt on the list but polite at the same time. Thats definately me. I hope i get my own little booth, AC, gate control, i dont know if ill have to patrol the neighbor hood, probably not because i wouldnt be there to open the gate. 0 -

Wise choice. The other job sounds more like loss-prevention, and if the employees are already used to 'losing' a lot then you will instantly be disliked by most of the employees. Not a good way to start a job.0 -

Take heed on the above advice from Doug...
and ignore the "hot chics" going in...
Do you job well and you could probably score with some tickets to the games..and possible contacts for "moving up"....
The gated community sounds better of the two..
Sure the marine industry is always booming in Florida, and so is parts black market...too dangerous..0 -
So, I guess, congratulations? 0 -
+1 on the wise choice, and good luck
ps. install us a web cam at the pool please, for security purposes of course you never know when someones gonna walk off with pool chemicals0 -
im definately congratulating my self. i had to go to lab corp and give a sample for the pre employment drug test, no problem there, go back on monday, get some uniforms sign some things and off to work on wednesday. 0 -
Do they allow you to be armed? 0 -
It is not a G licensed site, G license allows you to carry a weapon on duty, in the state of florida with a G license your allowed to carry a 9mm auto, or .357 with .38 loads, when i get more experience ill try to go G licensed. I would like to get into Private security, Body guarding, but i lack the experience necessary for that. But later... My dream job would be Diplomatic Security! 0 -

Hotchics and getting lucky means
you get to see some outragoues looking girls, in all manner of clothing.
I worked security at a highend resort hotel while going to school in PHX AZ. As security we always got to escort the working girls and the ladies to and from the high profile rooms. sometimes there was a thank you kiss or a flashing that resulted from us doing our job.
hell, the captain even made note of that as a perk in my interview.0 -
