Went to the local outdoor range Sunday,with a friend of mine .
I put 30 rnds. through his .50AE Desert Eagle.The gun is extremely fat, and heavy. I found his to be terribly inaccurate,even at 25 ft.
I suppose if you missed a shot on a person at 25'the muzzle-blast would be enough to incapacitate the person long enough to stomp a mud-hole in him.My R/thumb is paying the price of those 30 rnds. Kicks like an Army Muel!!

Yesterday... Took the middle son, his FIL, and the daughter to the range...
Took numerous platforms... 1911, striker, wheel, BP conversion, plastic, steel and alloy...
Various makes and models... Kimber, S&W, Ruger, Colt, Uberti, Khar... and even a Glock.
Calibers ranging from 380ACP, 9mm, 38, 357MAG, 40S&W, 45, 45Colt, 50 cal BP...
In ALL Variances... ALL Makes and models... and... ALL Calibers...
I can report that in the three+ hours we spent at the range, the daughter out shot us all...
In accuracy and quantity... her favorite... the 357MAG of course.
Oh well... Maybe I can take credit for teaching her so well. [:D]

I had to pick up a pistol I bought recently here on GB that came in at my FFL Transfer Dealer...
Who also just happens to have an outdoor pistol AND 400 yd rifle range... [;)]
So I called the middle son and asked about his work schedule... He was off yesterday. [;)][;)]
We went yesterday to pick up said pistol... Taking our carry pistols with us. [;)][;)][;)]
Rob Jr. has a S&W Sigma 40 I gave him last year for... Well being my son.
And I took my newest carry pistol, the Springfield XDs 45... And a couple of boxes ammo each.
Got to Bill's about 11:30am and headed straight for the pistol range.
Bill brought out his Springfield EMP 45 as well...
We started shooting steels at about 35 yds and transitioned to paper to practice CCW distances...
I'll have to say that Rob puts 'em in a 2" circle easier than I do... And Bill agreed.
Finally, I wanted to put some lead down range through the XDs to check function.
So I had Rob shoot it first... BIG Mistake. [}:)]
He shot up an entire 50 count box of Winchester White before he'd let go.
"Claimed" it fit his hand better... [:(]
Bill didn't help none either... He suggested that Rob try it in a 'cross-draw' concealed carry position. [:(][:(]
Rob of course... 'Always' wanting to be sure that "Concealed is Concealed" started checking different positions...
Sitting, Bending, Twisting, and couldn't get it to effectively print at all... [:(][:(][:(]
So I had to forcefully confiscate MY weapon from this yahoo... Before he laid claim to it.
Glad to say that the XDs didn't have one hickup... Until it finally got to round number 75.
Failed to go into battery. Field stripped it and brushed the residue off the breach and rails.
Ran a bore snake through the barrel... And re-engaged the target. No further problems.
Brass fell within a 3 ft circle approximately five feet to my right and about one foot to the rear consistently.
I feel I need to run several hundred rounds through it again and see if it fails to go into battery again beyond round 75... But it may be a while with cost of ammo as it is.
Anyways... We had a great day and finally transferred the 'new to me' pistol that came in.
And headed home... [:D]
Came home and we cleaned everything up... He kept the Sigma and I retained ownership (for now) of the XDs... [;)]
Here's Robby's two CCW practice targets... S&W Sigma 40 .
And a couple of his targets with MY XDs 45... .
Not bad for an upstart... handgun targeteer. [:D]
All I can say is he'd best be prepared when leetle sister comes home...
She's likely to show him up... 'Cause she takes 'no prisoners'. [^]0 -
I suppose I'd file that firearm under "because they can".
I wouldn't own a gun I couldn't effectively fire...But each to his own.0 -

Just because you can't hit anything with it doesn't mean it's innaccurate, more like you were scared of it.0 -
my d.e. 50ae can put them thru the same hole benched at 50yds. i can cloverleaf a group OH at 25yds.
it aint the gun my friend.

Hmmm I used to have one of these, til I decided it wasn't practical for anything but a conversation piece. Ammo cost to much for plinking and it is far to bulky for carry... But the one thing I was totally impressed with was how little recoil this firearm had... And I very accurate as well.... Anyway mine went down the road for a King Cobra and some Cash.......0 -

Wile i don't claim to be a "marksman" ,by any stretch of the imagination, i will say that i did do quite well with a number of other handguns that took the ride to the range.I will say i was a bit aprehencive before the first shot.But after that i knew what to expect and it seemed to me that the handcannon was just not as accurate as i expected.I dunno if it was the fouled bore, or maybe crappy reloads.In closing, i will add that i was not "afrade" of the wepon at all.

mine with both the 6" or 10" magnaported tube is extremely accurate with the speer 325gr HP. I would lean more on shooting style than the gun. It Truly is a great magnum automatic. 0 -
The only time mine won't shoot well is when I'm not up to it... 0 -
all you had to do was ask, this subject has been discussed many times, do a search on desert eagle, you will see many replies similar to your result, and nothing positive from me of course 0
