GRD.....I would take them back and get a different box. Examine them beforehand this time......[:)][:)] That's ridiculous. I've never heard of such a thing. [:0][:0]
I haven't bought any store bought ammo in 40 years that I can recall. I reload everything, except .22 of course, so I don't know what to expect by way of quality, but you would think it would be better then that......[}:)][}:)]

If I was reloading I probly would take it back!

The ammo looks useable, it just looks like they did not clean the brass good.

I will definatly be contacting winchester about it though!

I will try and get pictures up here after dinner so you all can see what I am talking about.

It's not Winchester's fault, it is Walmart's fault.

the last box of ammo i bought from wallie's looked like that and had been dropped so hard that the OAL of most of the rounds where all different. in out up down. I tried to exchange it but they would not take it back said "all sales are final" that was 10yrs ago.

They probably did not keep them from moisture, anyway, when you go to walmart, you are going to buy mostly junk.
    IMHO

So you can see a little of what I am talking about! My pics are not that good but you can see the crud in the lettering and around the primers! I can see a little discoloring that might be from moisture, but moisture will not put a crud build up in only the crevises of the lettering and such!

Nasty.....[xx(] If I bought any more from them, it would have to be on sale and I would inspect the contents before leaving the counter from now on. I wonder if it was in Walmarts storing methods that caused this?..........just a thought. Can't imagine Winchester letting them go out like that. [:)][:)]

This was the first time I ever got any ammo from walmart that looked like this. I have allways been real happy with what I have bought there untill this. And I doubt that this is anything walmart did as the boxes were in perfect condition and looked to never have been opened.

I'm sure it will shoot fine, but it should not look like this!

That's why the only Winchester ammo I buy is for my 1911. All of my rifle ammo is Federal. Federal Gold Medal Match 175 Grains for my .308 and Federal VitalShok 180 Grains for my .30-06

I can't speak for the condition of the brass, but having used Winchester primers for reloading, there are definately different "shades" of color on the bases.

I've never had a problem with them, they always go bang.
