That is mature glacial landscape. I would not be surprised that the glacial valleys could be upwards of 3000 feet thick. Note how all the valley glaciers coalesce into what looks like one blanket of snow. You can actually see flow lines of each valley glacier. This is a very nice picture. May I use this in a presentation that I will be giving to group of geology students? 0 -

ive traveled to and from munich germany numerous times, and this was the first that they said "get you camera ready..."0 -
It sure is beautiful.
It's also not that rare - well, ok, it may be if you travel in 30-35.000 feet.
But I've travelled several times between Greenland and Denmark, so I'm used to that sight.
Also when I catch a connecting flight from Kangerlussuaq to Nuuk, that's a sight you'd often see.
Because connecting flights in Greenland is usually by Sikorsky helicopter or smaller (can't remember the designation of those) - or by small plane, DASH-7.
The cruise altitude is not so high with those offcourse, so we're used to close up sights like that.0 -

I usually go around just north of Aalborg.
Right smack in between Hjorring and Frederkshavn - I was born in Hjoring and raised in a small town called Tolne.
That small town can be found right in between Hjorring and Frederikshavn.
It's a nice country-area.0 -

Those Northern Light pics are awesome. We used to see them in Northern Montana on ocation, but nothing like that. 0 -
The green arrow is indeed a church and cemetary.
The area surrounding the church is for caskets and my parents are burried there.
There's a black "blob" above the church, and my parents are burried a little further upwards and to the left on that picture.
The green area to the left, is burrialgrounds for urns.
The L-shaped buildings are usually stables or equipment-buildings, yes.
The red building, just under the L-shaped building that the yellow arrow points to - was at a time, a small laboratory.
It's just a regular home today.0 -

Yeah, it's fun to find aerial photos or satellite images of areas where you know someone.
I grew up in the far end (upwards in that pic) of that small town/village.
