Canadian Mist Whisky
I bought a bottle of Canadian Mist Whisky this week on the recommendation of the guy at the liquor store who showed me a article in which it was ranked as the number one Canadian Whisky. Boy was I disappointed. I usually drink Black Velvet Reserve 8, but also drink Canadian Club, Crown Royal, Windsor and pretty much any other Canadian Whisky. This one was the words of them all, I literally have to choke this stuff down. So much for being the smoothest, most flavorful Canadian Whisky. Anyone else tried this stuff?

Back in my drinkin' days we drank Canadian Mist like water because it was cheap. We used to call it "Canadian Fog". Every evening when I got off work at 4PM, I would come home and my roommate and our buddy would be sitting on the couch watching Andy Griffith and drinking Canadian Fog. They never bought more than one fifth. Around 5:30 we would notice that the fifth was near empty. We would make a mad dash to the liquor store to buy more before they closed at 6:00. This was a daily occurence every day for about a year. We'd come back to the house and drink another fifth before hitting the bars 'til about 2 am. Then I would get up and go to work and start all over again. That would kill me today.
Canadian Fog was the best "cheap" liquor we could find.0 -
I use Canadian Mist to mix with and that is all.
I drink the fine stuff straight.0 -

Yes, it was. Not to mention the fact of three drunks on the highway during the busiest part of the day. I rarely drink, now, but wouldn't drive to the mail box after one beer in today's times.0 -
Yes, it is a mix of crap they send down to us in tanker trucks to be bottled here, cool name is all it has going for it.[:0] 0 -
I don't much think much of any Canadian Whiskey. Scotch, Bourbon, or Irish Whiskey only.
Then again, I don't much like whiskey so it has to be some decent stuff for me to drink it.0 -
Blended whiskey, rather than a good single malt. Cheaper to make. Around here it was considered a "girl's drink". Usually for mixing. 0 -

Tidbit: Expensive imported stuff may not necessarily be better (smoother, etc) than el-cheepo imported liquor.
Watch for labelling. If it says "produced and bottled in [insert country]", an excise duty is placed on the individual bottle. You pay for it.
If imported in bulk, and bottled here, there's no per bottle excise tax added to the price. Joe0 -
Try Mcnaughtons (sp), losts of folks in Alaska luv it. At one time it was the #1 selling whiskey there.[:)] 0 -
