Another Nail for Hi Point's Coffin
I decided to completely take down my JHP and clean it. Well, after I got the roll pin out and the slide off, guess what I found. Metal shavings in everything. These guns chew themselves apart. More reason not to procure one of these hi quality fire arms.

I hope you didn't spend money on that thing. 0 -
I bought it as a joke about three years ago, I didn't pay too much for it. 0 -
Clean the shavigns out?? 0 -
And I oiled it, don't think I'm going to be shooting it any more. I should take the firing pin out and use it as a paper weight. 0 -
But what about the lifetime warranty? 0 -

Once a turd, always a turd. Funny thing is, no gun shop here in Minot will sell Hi Points or take them in on trade, not even pawn shops.0 -
You don't have to go through a shop. contact hi point directly. They will have you send it to them. I did that, they replaced the slide and a few other internal parts, and gave me an extra 8 round mag to cover shipping. 0 -
use as fresh water boat anchor. if perhaps it might be stainless, then use it as a salt water anchor.
no one gets hurt that way .0 -

hell I would give it a try just for poops and giggles0 -
Maybe find where it is doing the shaving and break some corners? 0 -
I can't believe they still make those P'sOS 0 -
Ya can't polish a turd. 0 -
The thing is a pile, I'm not going to do anything with it. I haven't shot it in over a year. I do have half a mind to take a 4 pound hammer to it, run it over with my truck and then send it back for warranty work. I'll tell them it fell out of my concealed carry holster. 0 -
After you do all that, maybe it will flush down the toilet[:D] 0 -
Save it for the next gun buy back program.Take your lady out to dinner.

I'm going to take it and two other guns I've acquired to a small shop back home in WI and trade em in on something. 0 -
I got the one I bought my dad for christmas and it didn't fit his hand so I gave him my bersa instead.
It is in .45acp. And still sits in the original box unfired. I had been planning on putting it up for auction eventually. It came brand new with the lazer sight and ghost ring.
Eventually I will get around to putting it up for sale. I got a good enuff buy on it that I should be able to come out ahead on it in the long run considering the laser and all.0 -
What was that comment from the movie Black Sheep? Something about crapping in a box and putting a warrantee on it. Sell enough boxes of crap and you'll have enough people that will feel too stupid or lazy to take advantage of the warantee and you'll cover those that do with the profits. I'm leery about "Lifetime Warantees" for that specific reason. There are some exceptions. Some companies provide Lifetime Warantees because they believe in their products and their products are THAT GOOD. However, the price tag will tell you that the product is just THAT GOOD. Then there are companies that sell crap and put Lifetime Warantees on their crap. Sell enough cheap crap and you'll have enough people that DON'T return the item and you'll still come out with a profit. That's Hi Point. Screw their warantee. Screw their guns. 0 -
Scratch off all serial numbers, then wipe it clean of your prints. Then find the nearest thug and sell it to him for $20. 0 -
Remove firing pin and use it as a desktop paper weight. Gnome needs a buddy. 0 -
...sell it for $20 bucks?! The serious gang banger would probably roll over laughing at that high price...[^]
I saw one the other day when I was out test "feeling" pocket pistols, they remind me of a Glock on steroids, bufugly!...[;)]

Just LOX it one night at work, take home and throw against the wall, have fun picking up pieces for hours![:D] 0 -
Don't scratch off serial numbers. They can be raised after they've been removed. [:0] 0 -

Then 5yrs down the road you get robbed and say......geeeez the gun that thug had was a hi point officer.......I know cause I used to have one just like it..........[:D][:D][:D]0 -
Just because you feel that their HANDGUNS are too inexpensively manufactured to suit your own Sterling sensibilities doesn't make their warranty any less effective.
Their CARBINE is still in use by several dozen LE agencies that I'm aware of as a car gun that's cheaper to acquire than even a Hesse AR-type, and I've heard nothing but praise for its' accuracy and reliability from LEOs that have actually USED it.
Sure, GM makes a coupla really crappy cars/trucks, but do they have a lifetime warranty? Would anyone condemn them just because their warranty expires right before the vehicle does?
Why try to polish a Ford?0 -
Melt it down and cast steel bullets for dad's .54 with it. 0 -
that cant be, these are supposed to be great 0 -
I guess that's why a guy over in the auctions is selling TWO for $350.00
(BUY NOW) price...
Are they REALY that bad of a .45??
JEFF0 -
I guess I didn't give deserved props to their carbine. Gun Tests magazine rated it much higher than the Marlin Camp Carbine. 0 -

Yes. If you want a .45, invest in a 1911.0
