    100 is plenty hot enough.

120F should be high enough. If you were operating an automatic dishwasher then 140F is usually the suggested temperature but 150F is just wasting energy, IMHO.

    120'ish

Is a good place to start. It all depends on how sensitive you are to heat.

At work, and we are very safety oriented, we need special permits to work with water over 140degrees. It's said to be damaging to soft tissue.

We have 125 water piped throughout the plant, and even then the 125 is almost too hot to touch.

110 at the max for a water heater I'd say.

120 is about right. As far as dishwashers go, most now can heat water if it's not high enough. Mine does, and so do most others I've seen recently.

even 120 can scald if used by itself

i would be curious as to why he had it set at 150, there may or may not be an underlying issue, those small trailer water tanks can be very dangerous, and has been a very high percentage of trailer fires in the past due to the wiring they used
