hk/cetme question
what is it that is different on the stock of the cetme vs. the hk91 that does not allow the cetme to use the hk's retractable stock?
the cut of the metal on stock looks a bit longer on the hk, but i suspect the guide/recoil rod is the culprit, i do not know, i wish i could make one for the cetme though i bet you couldn't make them fast enough

I don't know of any difference between the genuine CETME and HK stock mounting, I've had parts kits for both and the stock's and recoil rods are the same on both ... as are the retaining pins and holes.
The first clone Cetme's were made on an aluminum receiver that wasn't cut for the retractable stock, then came the cast stainless receivers, which had the cut, but the receiver was still too wide for the stock legs to actually retract into the receiver ... AFAIK the latest stamped steel designs by POF and Special Weapons (made after 9/2004) will accept the retractable stock or if they are pre-94 the receiver may have been made with some dimple or notch that would prohibit the stock from lining up with the retaining pin holes ... a dremel will correct this but make sure your parts count is "not more than 10 imported parts" to maintain compliance with the 89 ban.

i got it very cheap, but it is a good shooter, and in as good as shape as they come, it is a century arms model0 -
And its not cast stainless either!
I used a POF receiver for a HK-51 clone a couple years ago ... it took some work getting the stock on it as it was very tight at first but it finally went of ... if I remember right, it was almost like the receiver was just a hair too wide for the stock, but I massaged it enough it went on after a few times of that it got to where it would slip on and off without any problems.
How close are you to Kansas ... or do you know anyone with a retractable stock?0 -

i'm about ten minutes from down town saint louis
i can pull my stock, and measure the width where ever you want, i sure would hate to fork out the bucks for one, and it not fit, i will probably pay more for the stock than i have in the gun0 -
I'm at work today but can measure tonight when I get home ... or seeing select-fire has got his pulled out maybe he can do some measuring ...
... if nothing else I might have a HK recoil plate I could send you to try on your Cetme, I'll look around when I get home tonight.
One thing I always thought about, if it was something I wanted but wasn't sure if it would work ... look for a good deal on a used one you could sell it, if it didn't work!0 -

Widest point on top groove is 1.588 Bottom groove is 1.595

i have
top 1.5675
bottom 1.5760
center groove 1.0150
but i think this set of calipers i have are slightly off, maybe 20/1000, even then mine would still be narrower than yours
the reason i asked about the guide rod, is there is a poly side folder they are making and advertised for the hk, and cetme, but must use their guide rod, funny how they advertise the same product for both, but when you find a retractable stock it usually claims it does not fit the cetme0 -

it will fit with slight modification to the recoil rod guide ring, the end of mine has a slightly bigger end, what i mean by bigger since i do not know the diameter is mine end plug is longer

it's not a wire stock, but e-gunparts sells it for 200 bucks on their site as well as gb which is where i would probably purchase it0 -
