My wife's cousin (the one that produced that movie) was in a group called Reflection Theory. They had a singer named Persidia from Eastern Europe. Had a fantastic voice.
Now they are in a group called Another Now with a girl named Julie Betha. Another phenomenal singer.0 -

When she released Pieces of You in 1995, I hadn't bought an album in over 14 years. Who Will Save You Soul got an amazing amount of air time and I was hooked. Her voice reminded me of torch singers from a bygone era. What AMAZING range! I picked up that album and it's been downhill ever since (now I even have CDs). 0 -

About 5 years ago, she came to Albuquerque to do a concert at the El Rey Bar/Lounge; I got a pic of her'n'me outside the club that oughta make Ty a little jealous!
She told me she was living in her car before she finally got that "overnight" break (after almost 11 years), and I got to meet her Dad.
The concert sucked because the crowd wanted to hear Social Distortion, and wouldn't let her do any soft, bluesy stuff.

She has an excellent voice because is sounds sincere as if it is her speaking voice. I can understand the lyrics, which is unusual these days. Also, and probably the most telling, is that she doesn't have perfect teeth or a perfect nose and though she could easily afford to have them "fixed" she chooses not to. I'd like to hear her do more country music..old country. 0 -
