    I frankly don't doubt it. Dogs have been known to sniff out cancer in people when the people have no idea they're afflicted. I've read a number of stories over the years about dogs that will sniff and lick one certain spot on its master (get your mind out of the gutter) to the point where the person got curious, went to a doctor, and sure enough a radiology exam shows a tumor in the area.

    I can't imagine why a cat would be much different. Animals have much higher sensory capabilities than we do.

    My girlfriend did some hospice work a while back....they have a Golden Retriever that does the same thing.

    When the patient is close to death, Charlie lays down next to their bed or (if the door is shut) outside the door. The patient is usually dead within a few hours

    He's Ashland's lovable Angel of Death, I guess.....
