Would anybody be interested in these? Retail should be around $16.50, I put one in my 4-c and it seem to be as bright as the stock bulb, anyone else have any input?

Buy the new C and D LED versions instead of the AA upgrade which did NOT work well for me.

Truthfully, I'm moving away from LED's and back towards the traditional penlight or AA pocketlights. For regular everyday use, the LED's are simply too bright in one small area but narrowly focused and ineffective over a larger area.

The traditional small pocketlights have a better overall lighting effect IMO even though the battery drain is higher.

LEDs cheaper to opperate, and the bulbs should last forever. The downside is that the good LED bulbs, the ones that are as bright as incandescent bulbs, are very expensive. The average LED flashlight just isn't as bright as an incandescent. If you want a good handheld light, go with the Surefire G2. I have several of them and I will never buy another Maglite, they just aren't in the same league.

Inova makes a mean little LED light, plus they have a rechargable model. It doesn't cost $10-15 every time you have to replace the 123A batteries and you never have to put a new bulb in it, brighter then a maglite and brighter then a surefire.

Hey all, thanks for the opinions.

Last Christmas I got a Coast LED-Lenser V2 tactical, like the one below, and it is so much better than a standard 2 or 3 cell D Maglite. I just was wondering about wether it would be worth while to upgrade a 2 or 3 cell D Maglite to LED.

I'm not trying to get Surefire performance out of a Maglite.
