Marc- I'll pass it along to you when I'm finished with it. After you've read it, we can discuss it. You can either send it back to me, or pass it on to another. Perhaps it will become a "perpetual reader" for fellow GB members? [;)]

I live in Maryland. I won't even own a gun and have it on my property here. They make too much out of guns here for me to have anything. I can't wait to move to Virginia.

I haven't read it, but just checked and my local public library has a copy. Just put it on hold. I have a CCW. Strange in KY. You need a license to carry concealed, but can carry open all you want with no permit.

I have a CCW but have not read it. If Marc1301 is willing to send it on after he reads it I will gladly ship it to someone else to keep it circulating here on GB!!!

I have had a CCP for one of the hardest states to get one in...NY. I have had a permit for 23 years now. When you apply, they ask for concealed carry, or on premises(meaning for home). If you go CC, it covers both, and you can also carry open where it is applicable to do so.

I have not read that book, but it sounds interesting.

At the risk of sounding harsh, if you don't know when to use or not use your weapon, you're lacking way more than what a book can teach you and probably should not carry a weapon.

It's impossible to imagine every senario and you must be quick witted and decisive in your actions. Second guessing can come later when the threat/s has passed.

Probably can't hurt to read the book, but as a "requirement" for your "program", it sounds like you are getting your first carry permit.

...Never heard of the book but sure it wouldn't hurt, not knocking it in anyway. I think that a book would be hard pressed to cover too many scenarios that one could encounter; it would need to be volumes.

...Proper training, practice practice, and a whole lot of common sense, and one could still make the wrong call when it comes to using deadly force.
Your actions need to be trained reaction, not thinking reactions; too much "thinking" and you or yours will be called a victim.

...a split second comes and goes very quickly...[;)]
