Well it looks like my gunsmith school plan won't work! Is 10 years the limit for VA home loans also?

its worth a try these days to look into benefits. Because they have been opening a lot of stuff up. But past ten years you might be SOL. But I do know you can enlist up until your 42 birthday, and if you have 10 or 12 years prior they will take you into your 50's

No time limit on VA home loans- but look around- you may do better with a conventional loan. Mortgage rates are way down.

loans may be cheaper, but VA gives realtime appraisals on homes so you dont get raked over coals.

You might want to check with your state education agency.

For example, Texas has it's own version of the GI bill. If you're a resident of the state when you initially enlist you're entitled to 150 hrs. at any learning institute which receives state funds. This is in addition to your regular Montgomery GI bill benefits.

Actually you may want to check official channels on that 10 year limit. That's what I've heard too but I THINK they are trying to extend that 10 year limit out a ways. I heard that last year so it may have went into affect this year.......

FWIW, 10 years is what it has been for a long time.

    Another thing on this:

If you have a disability rateing from the military you are eligable for vocational rehab for education benifits!

This pays much better than the GI bill too!

GRD is correct, http://www.va.gov has lots of info on your query, including the 2007 benefits info package.

    I agree with bobski.

    Good luck!

I think the Govt. MAKES money on the GI Bill. I served with alot of people and watched them get out....they all paid in $1200 each for the GI Bill and only a couple ever used it.
