Happens all the time sitting on my back patio. I think I'm on a flight path for birds. They dump to gain altitude and they dump to lighten the load for landing.[:I]

We had a solar eclipse a few years back and I was standing on the beach at Lake Washington watching the eclipse.

I am not kidding you to say that at the exact second the last sliver of sun slipped behind the moon over a thousand seagulls took flight and every one was crapping over the crowd.
It was like a snow storm and had everyone running for cover.

Back when I was a gunboat rider, one day the Master Chief Engineman and one of the Ensigns had just left the ship and were walking down the pier. A seagull dive-bombed the Master Chief and dropped a load right in the middle of his combination cap. The Master Chief took off his hat and looked at it, then put it back on. The Ensign said "You want me to run back to the ship and get some toilet paper, Master Chief?" The Master Chief said "Naw, that seagull will be on the other side of the bay before you get back."
