hi,guys & gals..
well i had a new experience,yep..no not new fluff.[:D]a toy[:0].....

went out last night to sort a few fox etc & a bud introduced me to a bushnell rangefinder , the type that does like 20-700 yds/metre distance..

i never used one before as been the way i am, i avoid gimics & uneccasary garbage to carry..but WOW!! i was amaised at this little hand held distance teller...ok, the point.........what adiffrence in my shooting, ok(big head[^])my shots are pretty good, upto 180/250 approx!!yds..

but with the new toy ,i knew exactly what drop to expect, over exact distance..& i was taking longer shots than i thought!! 220/320 yds with the .223 cal..

have you tried the diffrence?

how many you guys use one?? am i giddy or do i need!! [;)]

  I've never used one, but I looked into buying one once. Which one was it?

  For the majority of folks that can't/don't/won't exceed the "point blank range" for their cartridge/game they are unneeded. For those that are good enough to stretch their limits, and understand the balistics of their cartridge, the range finders are extreamly important as they take one of the big variables out of the picture (the other big one is wind, and that comes with practice/experance at longer distances).
  
  Using your range finder in conjunction with the clicks on your scope (confirming/refining your drop chart IE: more practice at distance), will allow you to "dial a zero" that's way beyond what most people think is possible.

  I use a old Bushnell Yardage Pro 1000 that I've had for years. I have my 350 yard range synchronized to it so anything out to that is a guaranteed 1 shot deal everytime.
  It will range big stuff to over 1300 yards and sure is a help on those loooong shots....
