Help With Computer Projection
I know someone here is able to help with this, and I won't mind paying for services rendered.
We plan to have a reception for Travis when he comes back. The date is not set, but it will probably be in November or December, at the Civic Center in Greenville, Texas.
The Civic Center has a PA system, but that's all.
What I am looking for is something like a Power Point show, a slide show of pictures with music tracks. I have a couple of disks, one from basic training and one from the SGT's wife, but I also have a gang of pictures stored on my computer.
Once the disks are made, I would like to hire someone with the time, expertise and equipment to come and present the show during the reception.
Anyone??

Will dawnie be there in her cheer leading outfit so that Travis won't feel like he missed halloween? Glad to hear Travis is getting home soon David. 0 -
Either the cheerleader outfit or the schoogirl outfit. [}:)] 0 -

Have someone make up a dvd/slide show, then just set up a tv/player off in a corner.

What you need is not powerpoint, you need Adobe premier elements. It can create a very professional DVD that can have stills, video, sound - all with professional looking transitions between each shot. It is an easy program to learn/use - only costs about $100.
I got it recently and have been playing around with it. It is very easy to use. It uses a timeline that you simply drag and drop each element and then tell it what transition to use between elements. You can add whatever sound track you want and it also creates the entire DVD menu just like you are used to seeing on storebought DVDs.
It will also create/output the whole thing in flash or make it work at whatever speed you tell it - so you can optimize for dialup if you wanted.
Quite an impressive product!0 -
David,
You can rent projectors many places these days. About $75/day. Just make a dvd/picture slideshow. Easy to do.

"You can..."
"...easy..."
No, but thanks.
I need to hire a person and the equipment. If no one here can or will, I will advertise locally.
Thanks.0 -
Do a search for Microsoft Photostory. It is a free download and works fantastic. You do not have to be an expert to use it either..very simple in how it works. You just put your photos in and then put the music in. Very simple. 0 -
I used it one Christmas to create a cd to send to all my relatives. Everyone loved it and a lot of peoples DVD players can play a video cd so no computer needed. 0 -
...David, there is a local newsgroup that gets TONS of results for selling, trading and services wanted. dfw.forsale. NO fees, and I have always had GREAT results. Similar to Craigs list..but NO perv stuff.
...I tried this morning to copy the link and em it you, but it's newsgroup and I had no luck ANYWAY I tried it...I tried a search and ended up with another site.
..If your set up for newsgroups you can go to it...someone set mine up, so no help with that, sorry. IF you can get there, you will find someone to do this presentation for you I'm sure. I have NO idea how they make money, no ads, no fees for buyer/seller...been around since at least 2000 that I know of, luck...[^]

Once you have it on DVD all you need is a Big Screen TV and a DVD player. There is a bunch of software available to create the DVD that is so simple even I can do it. I use HP Photosmart Premier because that's what came with my DVD Drive. SONY has a video editor called Vegas that also does slide shows. It's in the neighborhood of $80 - $90. HP Photosmart Premier makes a DVD that most DVD players will play. I copy the DVD to regular DVD format on a DVD recorder so it will play on all DVD players. 0
