First city in the country to do it. Heard it on NBC news tonight.

The laws coming down the tube seem more and more just plain wierd. Wonder if you'll have to do 10-20 federal if you get caught with one. I'll be a rebel and bring my own! 0 -
Wish they would do that here in Florida, Damn Gulf is full of plastic bags people throw off their boats and it gets all tangled in fishing lines.. 0 -
might be the first in the lower 48, but they are already banned in a few villages in Alaska 0 -
They are also banning foam (To-GO) food containers here in parts of CA. 0 -

Yep, and it was just a few years ago that many of the same people were demanding plastic bags in order to save the trees from the paper mills.
They're trying to coerce stores into providing biodegradable bags made from corn starch, or go to reusable cloth bags.
Hope corn starch bags don't cut into the supply for alcohol fuels.[}:)]

Remember, most laws, especially gun laws, aren't meant to solve anything. They're meant to get politicians elected!
