So How did he get off so many shots in the Opening scene. 0 -
Any of you old timers ever see this show! Its not bad, in this episode there having a shooting contest for a Model 12 shotgun. 0 -
Wasn't he also a major league pitcher? 0 -
He wasn't a switch hitter was he? 0 -
Yep. He played for the Brooklyn Dodgers in '49, I believe. Then, he played briefly for someone else before starting to act. [:)][:)]
That was just before he borrowed my Model 92 Winchester for the "Rifleman" series and didn't bring it back......[;)][;)]

Watching it now, I love this show. I wish I could do that with a rifle. 0 -

I remember watching the show and noticed he fired the rifle both right and left handed in the opening of the show depending the time period.I read a story a few years ago about him.He once brought a horse into his house for someone to look at.Owned a bunch of guns also.

Old Chuck was also a card carrying Communist. No joke. 0 -
Johnny Crawford was a real "rock star" during the heyday of the show. I remember all the little girls in 5th grade had a picture of him. He even had a hit song, "Round and Round it Goes," which was about the names of boyfriends/girlfriends that kids write on their desks at school.
After The Rifleman, Crawford's career tanked. He was in one John Wayne movie, then, Adios.0 -

I've never heard of "Round and round it goes" but "Cindy's Birthday" was a big hit when I was a kid.0 -
Was that by Johnny Crawford? He really was a rock star.
Come to think of it, the name was not "Round and round it goes."
That was the chorus. The title was "So Goes the Story."0 -

And my G&A came in the mail yesterday. Guess what they feature in this issue?
Yup. his rifle. I haven't read it yet (chasing the toddler, ya know).0 -
Watched it until 2am this morning and fired it up again at 8am. They showed all the episodes of the first season.
I get a kick out of all the young "nobody" actors who appeared on that show and went on to be big names. I saw Warren Oates last night at about 21 years old and this morning I saw Dennis Hopper at about the same age.0 -
I met Johnny Crawford at the End Of Trail Cowboy shoot a couple of years ago. Nice guy, but shorter than I expected. 0 -
Connors played for the Cubs for some time. I saw him playing First Base for the LA Angels vs the Hollywood Stars in the old AAA Pacific Coast League in 1955 or 1956.

Still on at my house, I only slept 4 hours last night. Its gonna start coming on every week after this.
Yippeeeeee!0 -
Got them recording for my brother. I have Comcast, so I expect to see them at least fifty eight times each in the next year. 0 -

OK, the flipside was "Daydreams".0 -
I haven't watched any of it yet, but I've been recording it since midnight last night. Thanks for letting me know. I probably would have missed it. [8D] [:)] 0
