Upcoming bear hunt in Pa. ,
as most of my friends on here already know I have planned a Black bear hunt in Pa. this Nov.
So, the other nite I was talking to my father-in-law who I will be staying with in Pa during my hunt.
He is quite the man, kinda reminds you of Fred Flinstone on Steriods,
He stands about 5 ft 11 in. and ways about 280 lbs, he has 3 or 4 brothers and he is the smallest of the bunch. The bigggest brother weighs in at around 450 or so my father-in-law says, I have never met his brothers, anyway they call the biggest one TINY ??? Don't ask, cause I don't know why. Well anyway, Bill, my in-law & I was talking when he told me about what happened up to the hunting cabin some time back.
Now their hunting cabin sets up on posts about 4 ft in the air,with a big front porch on it, It does have a generator but does not have indoor plumbing, ie NO Bathroom.
All these great white hunters were up to the cabin. I guess they were rabbit hunting over the weekend & after dark they all just sit around and drink a few cold ones & play cards.
It was dark out side & Tiny, have'n had his fair share of cold ones had to visit the outhouse, which sets outback of the cabin. But because it was really cool & dark out tiny decided it was too far to the outhouse, so he just steped out the front door and started to pee off the porch, No body cared, No body that is except the Black bear that was standing on the ground beside the cabin porch. Now keep in mind Tiny weighs in at a tad over 450 the average Black bear in Pa weighs in at around 250 - 300 lbs. Normally you would think a grown man would be more observent, but Tiny was just a little snockered.
I really don't know what happened next other than Bill said "the font door flew open & in ran Tiny with peter in hand screaming Bear Bear"
From what they could get out of tiny after he put stuff up was that just as he started to pee, when the Big Killer bear stood up & made a hugh growelin sound while wav'n his front paws in the air.
Bill said "guess Tiny hit the bulleye"
I wonder if we dare take Tiny along when I go Black Bear hunting this fall ?

The closest i have been to a black bear is within 4ft. Took the bear a little while to relize what he was looking at. Then he took off running faster than i knew a bear could run. That happened the first time i went bear hunting and i will never forget it.
