About gun racks and pickup trucks
When I had my 87 Chevy pickup (wish I hadn't sold it), and every pickup before that, I had a gasket around my back glass. My gun rack just slipped under the gasket and it would stay put in earthquakes and nuclear attacks.
Now I have an 03 Silverado. No gasket around the back glass. When I bought my rifle rack I bought one of those "mount to glass" kits with it. One side stayed up about a week and fell off. It had never had anything heavier than a ball cap hung on it. I put it back up and about every week or so it would fall down. Yesterday the other side fell. I have decided the "mount to glass" kits are useless. I'm pretty quick to figure out stuff like that.
I'm trying to come up with a way to mount the rifle rack to the glass without risking damage to rifle/shotgun or the truck. I thought this double sided automotive tape might do the trick, but it appears that stuff is only sold by the roll for hundreds of dollars.
I know there are people who drive Silverados with gun racks. What's the secret?

Maybe could use the glue they use for the rearview mirror?

Yea, I know what you mean. My IH terra pickup rear window held my gunrack real well but I bought a ranger and it didn't work so good. My '01 Silverado is the same way. The guns go under the rear seat now but I miss having a rack. 0 -
why not get a roof mounted gun rack. Bigsky gun rack is what i have in my pickup. they have two gun or single gun i have the BSR1 and had a BSR2 this is in a farm pickup...drive in pastures and ect hitting hole and rock and never had a gun come out and end up on top of my head

I have the BigSky overhead 2 gun rack. Besides holding the guns in real well, nobody can see them. Don0 -
I've thought several times about the Big Sky rack. Although I think my truck (F350 4X4), sits high enough somebody could see them pretty easy.
I've wondered if somebody very tall was riding in the truck if their head would hit them.0 -

If it is a extended cab or four door get a GUN SADDLE or a BOW SADDLE. If not spend the money on 3M double sided tape. 0 -
