How much HP?
I was in my garage when this guy comes up off the street and starts to talk to me. He notices a couple race motors that I have sitting in the corner. We start talking about drag race, it so happens that he has a 91 Corvette he races. He had it park across the street, he shows it to me and it's a stock 350 TPI with 150 shot of nitrous and complete Flowmaster exhaust. I asked him whats been to the fuel delivery. He said the intake has been worked, not sure what he means by "worked". He just got the thing and really didn't know that much. He runs in the 12's. I told him that was slow, I guess he didn't like me telling him that, but it is. He mention that he wanted to put a spoiler on the back for more down force. I told him that was a bad idea. I told him at best he's putting out maybe 400 hp, that's if it's got an upgraded fuel delivery system, which I didn't see. That car is design to run 160 plus stock without a spoiler. I know you can't get 160 out of that in the quarter. A spoiler with create drag and down force slows you down too. It's not a course racer you only need enough down force to keep you in your lane.
Well by now he's getting kind of mad, hey I'm sorry, but I'm just wasn't empressed. He went so far as to said his Vette could hold it own against anything my dad or I had. He also pointed to a motor that was sitting next to the door and said his motor would dyno more than that motor, because that motor didn't have notrious. I told him that was 502 marine motor. He only wishes his motor puts out as much hp as that 502. I just told him I'll see him at Beanblossom (local track). Onlu problem now is I don't have a drag car.
So honestly guys how much hp do you think a stock 91 Vette puts out with 150 shot of notrous and no axuillary fuel devilery? I would hope he was at least smart enough to retard the timing.

I have that same program and don't really trust it it is good for a general idea but the only real way to tell is a chassis dyno or pull the motor and put it on a brake dyno
The less modification that is done to a motor the more a power adder like nitrous will help. so maybe he is getting 125-150 hp out his spray. but with out fuel system upgrades the motor will run lean and burn the pistons out of it.[;)]
Lets say you have a really efficient motor making 600-650 hp and you put 150 shot on it it doesn't necessarily mean it will add 150 hp to the motor there are to many variables that apply in the real world[:D]0 -

eh, heck with it. I'm bored. I installed it, loaded a typical chevy 350 small block street rod with 4.0 lb/min nitro, here's the results. (I don't know what a "150 shot" is)
if you can look at the control panel and tell me what u want to tweak, I can run another simulation and show a graph of the results.
anything else you want to dyno lemme know, i'm still bored.
What about the Mustang I posted earlier?0 -
Let's race [:D][:D][:D]

well right now I'm having problems because although I got the airflow profile specifically for 351C heads, it's.. for.. a.. different.. version of DesktopDyno!! aarrggghh
from http://www.boss351.org/cylhead.htm, at least it says you have 2.195/1.714 intake/exhaust. still no flow data so it's going to be generic.
"mileage may vary". those boss heads definitely made a difference. manifold is on "single plane". 560/560? it won't let me change duration. it's on 278/278 instead of 290/290.0 -
how about a 350 chevy board 30 over 194 heads rv cam stock duel ex 0 -
forgot to say that the heads are 176 cc 0 -

I'm having problems... you said you have a "351 Cleveland Cobra Jet", I'm not familiar with that critter. I found intake/exhaust dimensions, 2.09/1.66 for 428 cobra jet, but you have one of those on your 351C?? I gotta know what you have.

Just took my first ride in the truck with the 528. I still haven't installed the inner valve springs yet so I can't get into the throttle yet. Man, I've got stupid torque now though. It's 8 degrees below zero and I just drove it home from the shop and just easing into the throttle less than 1/4 speed, at 50mph the rear end trys to pass me.[:D] I think this thing is going to be as much fun as a guy can have and still have your cloths on. Wanna borrow a pickup that'll beat that vette in a quarter? Runs on diesel with propane injection. Get the best times if you engage 4 wd to keep from burning the tires off of it. 0 -

need more data. look at the control panel to see what more I need. 194 heads have 2.02/1.60 valves, but as far as I can tell 176cc heads are chrysler. if it's that different, then combustion chamber volume, carb cfm, manifold, etc will make a difference. I have a generic "high performance/street" cam but no RV cam, 'cuz all the .cam files I have are for a newer version of the software and my updater is corrupted so I can't use them!! if you have a part number I can look up the duration and lift.0 -

Horsepower is for those who can't keep their speed up in the corners.... 0 -
As a former Miata driver, I have to agree. 0 -
