No more dog hunting?

Ever since the Michael Vick dog fighting story broke, several states in the south east including my own are looking at doing away with using dogs to hunt (deer, rabbit, etc.)or legislating restrictions on it. To me it does not matter since I do not use dogs to hunt. For those in doubt, just think, Vick could have been using coke and slapping his girlfriends around and there would have been just a little one day blurb on the 11:00 p.m. local news. But hurt an animal, and it is front page news all across the country.

    Well, I'm going pheasant hunting with my dog around Christmastime in Wisconsin. I dare anyone to try and stop me from bringing my dog. It is what the animal is bred for and is what he enjoys.

    Oh, and it isn't me doing the threatening... it is Sam who will do it. I highly recommend not getting in between him and what he enjoys.

    I think harley my beagle would eat me if she couldnt go bunny or pheasant hunting. Yes believe me she hunts pheasants like a champ

    It's been illegal to hunt Deer w/dog here in Mo. forever, but good luck with enforcing that..[;)]

    Good luck with trying to make it illegal to hunt rabbit squirrel, etc. too.

    That has nothing to do with Michael Dick. It has to do with shrinking hunt acreage and WalMart hunters.
    I'm a died in the wool dog hunter. A few years ago they tried to ban it in my home state of Louisiana. It had nothing to do with hunting and everything to do with greed and control. The dog hunters came out en masse and put a stop to that.
    From what I understand, Vurginia is being taken over by Northern Invaders. Dumbasses trying to escape Maryland and DC are bringing their problems with them.
    I was privileged to hunt while stationed in Va. Those fellas take their doghunting seriously. Hopefully they can band together and put the ninnies and greedy SOB's back i their place.

    You said it spaniel, not allowing a hunting dog to hunt IS animal abuse!

    I rabbit hunt with 5 Beagles.You don't always realize how much you have in common with your fellow 4 legged buddies.Your a team.Your both hunt together.Its an extreme adrenaline rush to a dog when he's on a scent-its like their on automatic.Then the thrill of the chase is on.It would be a grave injustice to take that away from them-and me.I hunt my mostly my own property and always will.

    As long as it is legal and you enjoy taking the dog hunting with you, why not? I prefer being alone, myself, but I have no problem with those who do like to hunt with their dogs.

    Speaking of our "buddy", Michael Vick ... I don't know if I should mention this ... but I'm still wondering if a dog fight is a whole lot worse than a cock fight! They are bred to fight as well. And the losers die, right!

    Never engaged in a cock fight before... but I've never had any challengers. But, if someone were to challenge me, they just better keep in mind that a toothpick going against a telephone pole is a bad idea.

    have run hounds on coon,cat,bear and bunnies.........and i did not force them dogs to do a thing.

    How you gonna find a coon...without dogs ?
    ducks, birds...the loss rate is much higher without dogs.

    Deer..I have seen entirely too many rotting carcases from lazy bas+++ that refuse to get off the roads and actually walk into the areas where deer run after being wounded and the dogs quit baying...generally entirely too rough for the 4-wheelers to get to

    Highball, I saw a bunch of that when I lived in Georgia. The upside was that sometimes the dogs would run the deer right across the the hunting club property line and they'd pass right in front of me.[:D][}:)]
