    If gambling was on the list of no-no's then NO! he shouldnt be.

    And if Pete isnt then Bonds damn sure dont deserve it either.[:(]

    Pete SHOULD be in the HOF, but not allowed to ever manage or have any thing to do with a ball club. Bond's steriod use MADE him stronger and able to hit all those home runs. Pete got all his hits on his own, and he played his butt off, unlike players today!

    I agree, I met Pete a couple of times as his First cousin lived near me and he took me to a couple of ball games . He has a mantle full of baseballs from Pete.. But the rules is the rules, and to break em for one means to break em for all..

    IF MLB was not complicit in the steroids scandal, but making the tests a joke while filling stadiums and hyping Bonds and Sosa and getting fat, I might agree Bonds should not be eligeble. As it stands, I say fire Selig and then we will talk. Worst commissioner ever.

    We agree on Barry, but Pete's contributions to baseball occured as a player more than a manager. There is no evidence that, as a player, he ever wagered on baseball. I think he deserves the HOF from his career on the field. Since he has come clean and admitted it, I would like to see him inducted. He was the greatest!

    Amen to that! The Big Red Machine is still my favorite team. And Pete played HARD. How many players today do you see running to first on a walk? None! Heck, most don't even run out a hit! How many do you see play so hard they take out a catcher in a exhibition game just to score? None! He was the best player I have ever seen, and probably the best I will EVER see. He deserves to be in the HOF because of how he played the game and for his accomplishments on the field. Selig is a dork for not allowing him in.

    I agree with everything but the last sentence. One of ...yes, but not "the" greatest.
