`Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?'



PASADENA, Calif. (AP) - Adults in America are about to find out if they're smarter than a fifth grader.

Fox is launching a new game show called, "Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?" Grown-ups will compete in a quiz based on questions from elementary school textbooks.

A Fox executive says, "While most game shows measure how smart you are, this is a show that will measure how dumb you are."

Students will be on hand as "experts" for the adults to consult with.

Fox won a competition with other networks to buy the idea from Mark Burnett, the executive producer of "Survivor."

The show is expected to be on the air later this year.

  Participants in the Miss USA Pageant, which will take place Mar. 23 without Harder and Rees, are not allowed to be pregnant or married or to have children.

  I know of a few "know it alls" that I would love to see get their "comuppance" (sp)....
  
  I could just see their faces when told they were beat by a 5th grader....

  I bet they won't use average 5th graders and I bet the adults will be semi educated. Where is Art Linkletter when you need a good host.

  They might get lucky, I bet there are at least a couple of people that have been in the fifth grade multiple times.
