Somebody from the Army....

...help me translate this please! My grand-dad has been dead 10 years. Served in the Army Air Corps from Jan 42 through the end of the war. Was stationed on Tinian. Went to my grand-ma's house today (had to move her to a nursing home a couple months ago) and I got all the "stuff" my grand-dad brought back, including lots of letters and orders from his commanders. All but one of them I can figure out the "lingo" and make out what it means. This one has me stumped. Some of it I can figure out, some...not so much. Help please!
Here it is:

The following-named EM arrived this HQ 9 Aug 44 on shipment TA-050-A are asgd in gr to 1521st Air Base Unit, Pac Div, ATC, APO #953, and placed on DS at APO #244. WP at the proper time by mil ap fr APO #953 to APO #243, reporting upon arrival to CO, ATC Det, for dy. G will furnish T. A maximum of 65lbs of baggage is atzd for travel by air. In addition EM will be equipped with helmets, gas masks, individual protective clothing, and carbines or rifles. In lieu of subs a flat per diem of $7.00 is atzd for travel by air in accordance with existing law and regulations, $1.75 will be deducted by disbursing Offs for ea meal or qrs furnished by govt. TDN-67-000 P 432-02 A 212/50425. AUTH: AR 35-4820 and Ltr, Hq, ATC, 16 May 44, Sub: Auth to Issue Temp by Travel Orders.

    Here is my best translation based off of 25 years with the military lingo:

    The following named Enlisted Members arrived this Headquarters 9 Aug 44 on shipment TA-050-A (this is probably just to identify the movement by air or most likely by ship) are assigned in garrison to 151st Air Base Unit, Pacific Division, Air Transportation Command, APO #953 (APO is the mail identifier for the Pacific military mail), and placed on Duty Status at APO #244. Will Proceed at the proper time by military airplane from APO #953 to APO #243, reporting upon arrival to Commanding Officer, Air Transportation Command Detatchment, for duty. Government will furnish transportation. A maximum of 65 pounds of baggage is authorized for travel by air in accordance with existing law and regulations, $1.75 will be deducted by disbursing Officer for each meal or quarters furnished by government. TDN-67-000 P 432-02 A 212/50425 (this is possibly a message identification and a date/time code to track orders). AUTHORIZATION: Army Regulation 35-4820 and Letter, Headquarters, Air Transportation Command, 16 May 44, Subject: Authorization to Issue Temporary by Travel Orders.

    I am retired Army. I know what it is but can't give you the specifics on it. All I can tell you is that they are travel orders and authorization to issue equipment.

    Joe, or one of our WWII vets from that Theatre may be able to give you details.

Will Proceed at the proper time by military airplane from APO#953 to APO#243(RAF Chelveston, UK **probably a typo unless he also later served in the UK), reporting upon arrival to Commanding Officer, ATC Detachment, for duty. Government will furnish Transportation. ......

    The last line is the order number and finance account to pay for the travel, & the Army reg covering travel.

    Thanks, very much. But he was never in England. Went through training in Nashville, TN, then jumped on a train to Seattle. Left there for the Pacific. Sounds like Hickmam would be an obvious stop on the way to Tinian. I've still got lots of stuff to go through. Should keep me busy for a week or so. Also got a neat little book, "Welcome to the Mariana's" that was printed by the army and given to each soldier coming over. Lots of good stuff in there. Loved the part about coconuts. "Drink the milk from more than 4 at a time, and you will not be able to get far from the latrine. Be sure to reserve your spot." [:D] Also talked about the opportunities in Guam to go hunting for wild pigs and goats to supplement their diet. Pretty good stuff!
