I hear they make pretty decent pets. One of my uncle's neighbors has a pet skunk that's been de-scented. Guess it's not such a bad pet either. 0 -

I used to raise raccoons. They are cute until they reach adult age and from then on you have to watch them because their wild instincts come out. A coon bite can be nasty especially if it happens around the food bowl.
I had to watch one night out hunting as a huge female gutted a blue tick hound. When the dog went down, the shotguns opened up and the rest is history.
My uncle used to raise skunks and they really do make nice pets but unfortuately they will always have a slight odor eventho they have had surgery. They are good as as a cat when it comes to killing rodents.0 -

Hey Gagal, My brother and his wife adopted a cute little fella like one of yours. They ended up with rebies or rather had to endure a long battery of exspensive shots! My daughter -in law is a local vet. She sure warned them too. I live in Camden County...so beware, it can happen to you also . We sure wouldn't want that! Later on , Steve your fellow Realtor. 0 -
We've had our share of coons as pets.Some of them have been good to the end and some have turned flat ugly.I would'nt do it again due to having a daughter.I still bear scars from 30 years ago from 1 of those that went bad and a friends as well,Coonie went almost 50 lbs. at his prime and loved his Min-Pin pal Sparky.he'd hug that little squirt so you could'nt even see the dog,but he was unpredictable at best.Remember they're wild animals and good luck with your decision 0 -

They will destroy your home. I know a guy that rescues aniamls. He took in one and raised it in the house. The thing was worse than a mob of teenagers. He wound up giving it away after a large interior repair bill. 0 -

Where I come from we'd wire a brick around there neck and throw them in the river. We are over run with them. However, there are very few critters as cute as a baby racoon.

Oh I fully understand that part of them. I dont keep them as pets. I will release them this fall most likely over on Jekyll Island where they cant be hunted. Several homeowners on Jekyll have been more than helpful with several other releases I have done. They seem to be very open to helping them along until they get used to living in the wild. I dont think its right to keep these guys as 'Pets' they just are not as happy in a house as they are in the wild.0
