... anybody have Mammoth Ivory grips?
I've been toying with the idea of getting some for one of my
1911's ... I know, Sacrilege!!! ... BUT, I think I'd lik'em anyway![:D]

I'd like some on my Smith & Wesson model 14.
But it needs a barrel and cylinder first.0 -
Be carefull of the expense of Ivory grips on a 1911, they have a tendacy to crack fairly easy unless they are backed up on wood. 0 -
I don't, but a friend has some on a Freedom Arms Premier Grade...they're gorgeous.
I think they'd pretty up a 1911 quite well.0 -

These were made by CLINTF. I haven't seen him post anything for a while. He lists his occupation as "Military". I don't know if he's still around.

I have wondered about being brittle and breaking.
But with the cost it would end up on a safe queen.

Absolutely! They are still finding great numbers of the tusks in Siberia - and some in Alaska.
The great part about it is that they are not considered endangered so it can be exported and
