Missed my chance......
Got up about 3am this morning and went out east to my area to sit above a burn for a few hours. I thought maybe an old buck might get careless about daylight and come out to play. [:)][:)]
Just about the time I was able to see well, I kept hearing little sounds behind me. I didn't dare move, though. So, I kept watching the burn and hoping that whatever was making the sound would come out and doubly hopeing it wasn't this Bigfoot that everyone is taking pictures of! [:0][:0] Anyway, shivers kept running up and down my back like a squirrel running up and down a tree, so finally, I couldn't stand it. Slowly, I swiveled around so I could peer out from around the tree I had my back against. RIGHT INTO THE EYES OF A HUUUGE BUCK! I couldn't believe it. Of course, as soon as our eyes made contact, he took off. I didn't have time to fart. Wouldn't have done me any good anyway. He wouldn't have been there to smell it.
He was a 4X4(western count)at least. Probably a Blacktail, although Muleys are in this area also. I'm not too sorry.....I'll be back.

the suspense is torture out in the woods. I hate 9 out of 10 times when you turn around and it's a squirrel. 0 -

I used to hunt out of Rifle, Col. almost every year. You could buy the tags over the counter. I loved that town. Big banners across the street...."Welcome Hunters". Everything was geared to make the hunting season an enjoyable one. Of course, it was for the revenue it brought in, but what the hell...I don't know how it is now, haven't been back in 10 years, or so. [:(]
