Sighted the new rifle in.
Man is it sweet. It was colder than crap and windy. 25deg and 35mph+ winds. I have the 100gr SP's in an inch and a half (1" high) at 100yds. This was cheap ammo and considering the conditions I could probably get them much tighter.
Put 30rds through it, cleaning every 5. Shoots really well. A pleasure to shoot. I'm really happy with it, thanks to everyone for the advice.
One quick question.
I'm shooting Federal 100gr SP's, what kind of trajectory will I get out to 300yds if sighted in 1" high at 100? MV = 2960fps. I plan on Coyote hunting tomorrow with it.

Sounds like ya had fun Cubs despite the cold. I'm sure you posted it before but I must have missed that one. What kind of rifle did you get? 0 -
I got the Stevens 200 in 243. 6.5-20x50 0 -
Yep, that will do nicely for coyotes. [8D] Good luck tomorrow. 0 -
Hey cubs,
You being an inch high at 100yds. you should be dead on at around 175yds. with those 100gr'ers.
According to federals ballistic charts:
100gr SP
Sighted in AT 100yds.......-3.7 @ 200..........-12.4 @ 300
If you're not going to be using it for deer just yet, just for varmints, I really suggest buying their 55gr ammo and sighting it in with those. That's what I did with my .243 and they are devistating on coyotes. Took one at 325yds, stepped off, and it never knew what hit him.
I sight mine in at 200yds and with the 55gr'ers there isn't much drop at 300. According to their charts (and it seems to be close from my experience) it's -4.4 @ 300yds.
Good luck tomorrow![8D]
