Prayers/fingers crossed... whatever!

Most of you know that my hubby, David, is the fire cheif of our city. We have been working for months to get everything ready for an ISO inspection. We currently are rated 8 and hope to get lowered to a 5. This will lower the insurance rates for everyone in our city. (about $100 per 100k insured) This will make about a $600k difference for the residents over all PER YEAR. We both have missed opening day of all hunting seasons so far spending every possible minute doing paperwork and makeing sure everything is straight with the equipment. We also just got a brand new pumper truck last week.... Anyway.. the ISO guy got to the station at 9:30. I left David there and came on to my office. Please pray... keep fingers crossed... whatever that everything goes well and we are able to get the rateing down. This will help about 2000 homes!

    Bob... I pray but some dont... hence the fingers crossed and whatever comment.

    I think gagirl was just being polite to all our members by not just asking for prayer. (which I wholeheartedly believe in). Just because it's our belief,and I understand your point, it doesn't mean it is everyone's belief.

    Gagirl: givette here. How'd the inspection go? I crossed my fingers for you. Then thought of what Bobski said, and uncrossed them. Then I prayed for the townsfolk in your post.

    God will answer/deny my prayers whether or not you have your fingers crossed. It's between me and the Allmighty. You're kinda out of the loop, so to speak. Joe

    Think we are pretty safe getting a 6. Down from an 8! The county will end up going up to a 10... whoops.... but there is no big insurance difference between a 6 and a 5 (thanks for that info Ben).

    Congrats.

    I dealt with the same thing when I was on the city council. We got ours down as low as it can go. Our fire department is top notch in training and equipment and we put in new water mains and hydrants so the process was not hard just lengthy and had to jump through some hoops.

    It actually stands for Insurance Services Office.

    The iso rateing is a big factor in determining the homeowners insurance for the residents in our district.

    A local developer just promised us $480k for a new laddertruck! Now if they had only done that BEFORE the ISO inspection... Thanks for all the prayers and well wishes. It will be a few months before we know for sure what the outcome is, but we feel safe that we lowered it to atleast a 6 but are still hopeing for that 5!
