    Here is our Catahoula...."Cody".

Getting a kiss from Max (half black lab/half husky).

Cody weights 75 pounds. For the first 2.3 years, I thought he was a dog with ADHD. ...and I am not kidding. Wound tight...until it was time to sleep. I don't think he slowed down to eat!

We actually took him to the vet on two different occasions because I did not think he was getting enough to eat and/or nutrition (we spend the money on IAM's). Cody is just a well muscled, but thin dog. I have had dogs all my life - German Shepherds, Old English sheepdogs, Beagles, Blue Healers, etc, etc....but Cody is just a different dog.

Stubborn - yes. You MUST teach yours who is the boss. Everybody in the family must teach him who is the boss. Not saying to be mean...but he needs to know.

The Catahoula Cur is like the Catahoula citizens. If you ever watched Cool Hand Luke, then you have the right picture of their indomitable spirit.

Easy, I am happy you did a rescue and that you have found a good friend. There are a couple good Catahoula Rescue groups and the dog would already be pre screened and vetted too.

Be warned with a full bred Catahoula though. They are VERY HEAD STRONG! Unless you have a good amount of time to spend with a dog that needs attention then a mix is usually best. I love my full bred and will have one as long as I am able. I would have 5 if David would let me! Also Cur is not a negative term when it comes to Catahoulas. Their full title is a Catahoula Leopard Hound or Catahoula Leopard Cur.

    Check out the ones here.
