    I'm surprised a modern manufacturer doesn't have that information on all of their serialized guns.

    Unless someone else has a better method, you could find out from Sig what year and at what serial number they started keeping records and if they have a current production total for your model, then you could take the production quantity since they began tracking serial numbers divided by the number of years since they began keeping records to get an approximate annual production rate. Then work backwards until you come to your serial number range.
