14-year old on a date? My God, the world is falling off its axis because I'm with SaxonPig on this one! My son is 13. He goes to dances and the like at his school with his girl friend, but that is it. Daddy drives them and picks them up! [}:)]
Jacob...who drove? Did you load her on the back of your bike and pedal her around? Or are they making a 2 seater Big Wheel now? [:D]0 -

We went to the mall, while mom and dad did shopping.. I went in the bathroom and called him, then he called me back later like nothing happened and said he was coming.. WHOOEE im glad. Id be out of money..

Doug: Marc started a thread the other day asking if I was still alive as I hadn't posted in a few hours. It was meant as more of a joke than anything.
Rogue Rob called him gay.

I really think some group things are better for your age group. You can say something like....me and three others are going to see a movie....do you want to go? Its not REALLY a date...but you get to be "together" and she will be responsible for her own bill. Everyone realizes that at such a young age there is no money other than what a parent can be talked out of.
My oldest has perfected the art of never giving me change for ANYTHING I buy. She has paid for three people's school lunches this year without me realizing it!!! I know we went by Whataburger two nites ago...and I'm just now realizing I didn't get my change!!!!
Anyway, you shouldn't be worried about "dating"...not this young. Dating is for people who want to settle down and be with one person in a relationship. Any girl that needs to have a boy spend money on them isn't thinking about the boy. Invite her to "come along"...not take her out. At your age you can have a lot of fun just hanging out and if she really likes you that will be enough.0 -

Movie is not always the best idea for a 1st date...don't get to talk much. Dinner and some kind of sporting event or maybe batting cages, mini-golf, etc if you have any near you. Something interactive would be better in my opinion. 0 -
Golden that is perfect....I just think that dating is something that is better as a group when you are young.
When you were out she maybe didn't realize how much she was costing you. The excitement of getting to go places and do things sometimes gets people a little crazy. I'd give her another chance. If you do invite her to do something with your group....say something like...."a bunch of us are going to the batting cages where you can have a load of fun for only $10." Maybe she will get the hint. Be prepared just in case she doesn't though...and don't invite her again if she seems to be that thoughtless.0 -

Doug,.......some people here like to screw around constantly,........there seems to be a little clique of folks that list another country, or island, as there place of residence. God forbid you are not part of their little group!
Cubs posted a fishing pic of him,..........someone else, can't remember who, made a comment about posting a pic of yourself, if you are fat!
Later I put a thread saying Chubs,...err Cubs, in the subject line.
Some compadre made a comment that I was gay, and one of the others that rarely ever says anything sensible, did his usual schtick. I posted that I would be happy to end that comment. Guess that was violent, so the thread was poofed.
Then on this thread, which was pointed to Cubs,..........I recommended a Weight Watchers meeting, as the kid was asking where Cubs would take a girl with 30 bucks to spend!
End of story,.........and the other one has already made another of his intelligent posts just a bit ago. Same answer to him, as the other,.........anytime!
Think I will stick to serious topics from now on,.......less "children" around![}:)]0 -

Actually folks, this will be my last post about this!
I WAS trying to have some fun,......but only certain people seem to be able to make jokes without being insulted.
I don't like the "gay" thing, because I have never been called that in my life. When you say that to a persons face,.......you stand a chance of picking your teeth up off the ground, but online you can do it with impunity.
I especially hate that term, not because I am a "religious nut", or a "homophobe",..........I was engaged before my current fiance', and she had a brother that WAS gay,...........he ruined everyones lives. He was also an IV drug user, and a "flamer". He caused a decent family to virtually have to move away in shame from the things that he did, and said. Part of us splitting up was because of that guy also. He finally died from AIDS............that is one reason I don't like some person on a forum board calling me such a name, when I can't do what I would do in person.
Also I have never called anyone else here any kind of a name.
If you can't accept that, then I guess we will just stay out of each others way going forward.

Boy, you're getting pretty upset about this. I never said you said that I was fat.
And I wasn't the one who called you gay.
I've never had a problem with someone calling me gay, or wearing certain colors or styles of clothing. I'm THAT secure about my own sexuality to not be bothered by it.
One of our best friends is gay, he's not a "flamer". Just a good guy that means well and will do anything to help someone else.0 -

If you had the experience that I did with the "flamer" that I was speaking of, you may feel different. I probably would feel different also,..........but when I think "gay", all I can see is my ex's brother, and all the grief he caused. Also the sad pathetic shape he was in when he died,...........he was a jerk, all the way to death though, never changed.0 -
