The White House is announcing the first part of a military assistance program to Mexico to help its military fight drug cartels at the same time the Department of Transportation is pressing ahead to allow 100 Mexican trucking companies run long-haul rigs in the U.S. without restriction. "
My money doesnt grow on trees for easy plucking by the corrupt Mexican Govt. $500,000,000 would/could go a long ways on enforcing
both illegal border crossing, deportation of Illegals, and a bit more of border fencing (which seems to have stopped although funded and passed.) Where has the American "dream" of enforcing our borders gone. Has the American Dream gone up as a pipe dream or has our
President been inhaling something something that aint tobacco? What border does he think is allowing the running of drugs mostly as it is the easiest border? I have a good idea where most of this money will
end up and it aint for controlling drugs through and from Mexico.

$500 mil is a bribe to them to make some pittence of an effort to cut the drug flow. Any less would be laughed at by the Cartels. 0 -
This new war on drugs money is included in Bush's new $46 BILLION dollar appropriations request from congress to fund the Iraqi war and then some:
For the State Department, Bush more than doubled his initial $3.3 billion request, adding $3.6 billion for a total of $6.9 billion. The updated request includes money for peacekeeping efforts in Darfur,battling drug trafficking in Latin America, fighting famine in Africa, assisting Iraqi refugees, and the Palestinians
