    Just a question here.

I was watching "Top Shot" last night and they were shooting a .338 "lapua" round at a 36" target 1500 yards. I may be wrong about the round/distance.

It seemed to be a pretty hi tech weapon they were using and I was amazed that they seemed to have some difficulty with the shot. I was thinking that, off bags, that would be a pretty routine shot for today's systems with the optics and ballistics.

Then I was distracted by the hispanic chick's butt and really didn't care anymore.

To take a long shot like that is just WRONG, COULD HAVE BEEN A WOUNDED SICK DEER THAT WOULD TAKE A WEEK OR SO TO DIE.

I can't even SEE a deer that far away...much less shoot the dang thing! About 150 yards is my limit anymore. Bifocals are just not good for hunting. [xx(]

About two years ago, my son, 11 at the time, took a doe at a measured 260 yards. Longest shot on game I have ever personally witnessed. But he had shot close to 1000 rounds out of his 243 and I knew, and HE knew, he could make the shot. He lay prone on the ground, fired one shot, and the deer fell over dead. Did I mention that now at 13 he is a MUCH better shot than his old man? [:(]

For you, maybe so...but you should learn to speak for yourself. For some folks, shots like these are no harder than your average hunter taking a 100 yard shot. My longest kill was just over 1000 yards...all of my other shots have been inside 800 yards. There are folks out there that can shoot a whole hell of lot better than me...

Just b/c you do not have the ability to shoot this accurately on a very consistant basis, does not mean that other folks are not capable of doing it.

I know your comment wasn't directed at me, but I don't have a problem with anyone taking that shot either. Good for him if he can make it! I only know that about 150 yards is my limit, so that is what I stick to.
