Should have included a little more info. They were ALL borrowed. The gentleman in the picture loaned the use of the auto stuff...and provided a little instruction as well (see second picture). :)

It is NICE to have friends. Thanks Scott!

Next time tell him to keep his elbows in. They'll harp on him for that.

You can defiantly see the difference in his stance as he became more aggressive in the last photos. He will go in knowing more about what to expect from a FA.

also, when standing, they will have him do a hasty sling around his left arm...(well cant speak for the army). but zulu is def. right about his right arm...

i seriously doubt that he will fire ANY full auto from the STANDING position....(again, not sure about the army)

That Don't look like Fort Lost in the Woods, all I remember is the damn rock, snakes and other forsaken things. I was a guest of Uncle Sams back in the 60s and I swore I would never to back in that part of the country. Then I met a girl in KC and got married and all her family worked on the Fort, Damn the bad luck. Nice guns and looks like fun,he will remember that. Just like I remember the BIG Rocks and snakes.hahahaha[:(][V][^][:D]

Very rarely will he even fire from the standing position. Kneeling, and prone, both supported and unsupported will be the primary positions, until and if he does MOUT training. And if/when he does MOUT, the will rail him for having his elbows sticking out, and for standing sideways. It gives a smaller profile, but there's not as much armor on the sides, and that's where they'll nail him.

The only full-autos that he'll fire live ammo through will be the 249 SAW, the 240B, MAYBE the M2 and Mk-19. All of them will be either bipod (where applicable) or tripod mounted. During blank fire, he MIGHT get to fire a SAW standing, if he's that lucky to carry a SAW. Typically, though, they give the SAWS to the smallest guys.
