Tried to hunt squirrels this morning/early afternoon. The kid and I decided anything that uncomfortable might as well be making us money, so we hung it up and went and did some mowing.

I am not one to gripe about the weather, since at last count the weather was one thing still utterly indifferent to human opinions and efforts to change it, but this business of 90-odd degrees in October is getting old. I live in SE Indiana. Has anyone around the country experienced anything like normal weather (meaning, at least trying to cool down) over the past month or so?

Still hot here in Florida, mid to upper eighties......but we're known for that!
The past week we have to have had over a foot of rain here though,.....can use it but it is raining everyday, and killing my work projects!

Unusually hot in Louisiana - Tigers are on fire and Saints crashed and burned.

Was 92 both days this weekend here in southern Indiana. We went camping and everybody decorates the campsites for Halloween. Kids went trick or treating and were pretty much miserable sweating in their costumes. It's just not fun camping in October when it's this hot. Supposed to cool down by the middle of the week.

83 degrees today. Unbelievable. Squirrel season opened yesterday but I'm going to wait for the first frost to hunt. Might be waiting until December.[:(]

It was way to hot this weekend. I still need airconditioning and the heat is as severe as the drought we are experiencing.

I'm just enjoying the weather as long as it wants to last. Lower home heating bills are a good thing.
Plus, I know we will pay for this sometime this winter.

i contacted Al Gore and asked him whats going on. He said Bush and greedy republicans have caused a thing called global warming and its going to kill us all in less then 5 years.

It's about 85 here in S. Arkansas right now. I bagged a few squirrels last weekend, but had to dress them ASAP because of the heat. I hunt in a 40 acre woods behind my house, so didn't have to carry them far.
The d____ mosquitos were sure thick, too.
Anyone tried "Bullfrog" insect repellent? It contains no DEET, which I seem to be sensitive to. I got the spray bottle and it lasts for at least 3 hours.

40s and a few flakes of snow today.
Not enough to stick, and you had to be watching to see it, but it's coming.

grdad45...my kids use "bullfrog" repellent. Seems to work OK on them. I tried to go squirrel hunting here last week. Just too dang hot and not many squirrels. Acron and hickory crop is terrible. Walked through a pine thicket and found where they had been eating pine nuts out of the cone. Squirrel has to be hungry to do that! Did finally kill one, but he had some sort of mange or something. Open, oozing wound on his left shoulder, and no hair on that shoulder and down his back. I didn't really want to eat that one, so buried him in the woods. [xx(]
